I think I emailed the guy before he sold it. It had only been 20-30 minutes after he posted. However, I am somewhat surprised that he hasn't pulled it yet. I expect that he will in a day or two due to the quantity of emails that he will get.

Edit: I have another chance at it. The guy just emailed me and said that the first guy can't make it. He is giving the second guy a chance, but I am to call about it at 10. If it is still there, it is mine. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Any Chicago area CVers up for splitting those 150 tubes? I am away now so not able to complete the transaction. I will be away from computer all afternoon but if anyone else wants to organize this I'm in...seems like with 4 or 5 of us in for $30-40 we could each have a longtime supply. Of course I don't know the breakdown of sizes; I could use some 27s and 26x1.5s for myself and 26x2s I want to donate to a school. And I'm sure I'll have a bike with 700s some day...

Hmmm....I could make a nice SS out of that but Sarasotas a 45 minute drive.

My brake line ruptured on the way back from getting the Miyata I commented on in an earlier thread. :(

I got the lucky chance to swerve into the curb and almost hit a phone pole. I wonder if it is the Fuji god of bikes being angry that I bought a Miyata.

Brake line rupture is scary. ' glad you're okay. Do you know what caused it?

Ekk. That sound's terrible. Maybe somebody can explain how a brake line rupture happens? And hopefully it can be avoided in the future.

I have no idea of why it happened. It is in the shop now. At first I thought that maybe I had a slow leak so I added more fluid. I got back in the car and hit the brakes immediately and heard it spraying underneath the car. It is up near the wheel so I can't imagine something hit it.

Needless to say, it scared the crap out of me when I thought I lost control. I thought the car was going to be totaled when I hit the curb as hard as I did.

I've already made a sacrifice to the Opus...it got a set of extra pedals that came with the Miyata. I'm thinking of transferring the wheels to the Special Road Racer and then give the Miyata to my nephew or brother-in-law. I may turn around and sell it though. I haven't really decided. I'll definitely be taking the Brooks saddle and panniers for a Fuji. Perhaps this will make amends.

Overpriced, but has a full Golden Arrow group (and the previous owner's Social Security # plainly visible in the top tube near the seat post).
