Speaking of which, how about a more prominently posted link to the page that allows you to sign up and be a paying member? I've been a regular user for several years now, and have always been too lazy to really search out the link to pay. I've looked on several occasions, but just finally found the page. Who knew that you needed to search for Lotek's signature?

I guarantee that I'm not the only person who wouldn't mind paying, but hasn't really been prompted. You really shouldn't have to go looking in the specific selling thread to find the link. I've never been tempted to sell anything here, and have never looked in that thread. Make it easier, and people will support the site.

A banner has recently appeared on the main BF contents page, directly under the 'Marketplace' subsection banner. Not in the form of a link, for some reason. Must be software limitation. http://www.bikeforums.net/payments.php

Nice Miyata 615

http://harrisburg.craigslist.org/bik/1572187938.html

Miyata Touring Bicycle, 54cm - $175 (Harrisburg)

Date: 2010-01-26, 6:53PM EST
Reply to: sale-5qjm9-1572187938@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

1987 Miyata 615GT steel frame touring bicycle

Seat tube length approximately 54 cm (~21 inches)
Tires: 700C x 32, Schwalbe Marathons
Two sets of water bottle cage mounts
Cantilever brakes
Shimano downtube shifters with index shifting, and backup friction shifting
Rear cargo rack
Full set of eyelets for cargo racks and fenders.

Also included is a generator light set; I used it a few times when I got caught out later than I anticipated.

Has new tires & tubes--they're Schwalbe Marathon Plus HS 348, with less than a hundred miles on them.

Punctures become obsolete with the MARATHON PLUS! The SmartGuard layer made from a flexible, special rubber offers particular resistance to shards of glass and flints. Even a thumbtack cannot penetrate this protective layer. The SmartGuard belt does not increase rolling resistance. The MARATHON PLUS rolls as easily as a tire without protection.

Folks, this is a quality bicycle. It's solid, reliable, and any bike shop will be able to work on it easily should you need any service. It's customizable to your heart's delight. Add racks & panniers for touring, or leave it as-is for a speedy commuter bike. The triple crank means a huge range of gears for uphill climbs or zooming along the flats.

I'm asking $175 for the bicycle, with the new, quality tires & tubes, the lighting system, new front brake cable, and a new saddle. Yes, it's more than a Huffy or Kent will run you on Craigslist, but it's a far better bicycle. In bikes, you really do get what you pay for.

I really love the way it handles, but I must face facts and realize that at 6'1", I'm a bit too tall to ride it comfortably. It's time to sell it to someone whose size is more appropriate.

Located in Harrisburg near 81 and Front Street. Contact by email for chance to check it out in person.

See my photos, and at the bottom, links to the 1987 Miyata catalog showing the factory specs.

I'd love to own a Rivendell, but there are others still selling Mixte models. Trek's new Bellville has a mixte option, which they happily do not call a "woman's bike"

I have a bike that I need to get rid of this weekend, it is an old classic in need of fixing up. To be up-front, the chains and brakes are rusty, the tires don't have air, there are small chips on the frame, the seat stem has signs of rust in the non-exposed part, and the bike hasn't been used in over 3 years. I am no longer a biker and would like to give the bike to a good home before I move. It has been housed both indoors and under covering outdoors since I've owned it.

Now that I mentioned all of the negatives, the positives are consistent with the brand of the bike. When I did ride it, the ride was smooth and soft and was great for long rides. If you know how to fix up a bike and have a bit of time, this bike is a great fit for you.

Included with the bike will be clipless Look 247 pedals and relatively new Shimano blue and gray shoes (size 10.5).

Please be willing to pick up in Wilmington, DE this weekend. If you can only pick up in Philadelphia, I am willing to drop off for you, but you will need to pay me by paypal before I make the drive. Contact me for more high res pictures.

PA-10 for $190 in the San Diego area.

Quote:
Check out this 1971 classic! The PA 10 is the less expensive version of the legendary PX-10, but the geometry is the same! It's a great race bike and is sure to turn heads!

Be the envy of your biking buddies! The frame has some chips and could use some tlc, but make no mistake, this bike is for winners!

road bike, race, ready, unique, rare fast vintage classic

Raleigh "Supercourse" 10 Speed - $100 (Concord, NH)

I have a RALEIGH "SUPERCOURSE" ten speed bike for sale........good shape........but the tires need to be replaced. It's 24" from the peddle core to the seat. Then 22" from the seat rod to the handlebar frame. It's a 1973 / 1974 model.......bought in 1975.......used it a lot in the 70's but tapered off after I got married in 1980. It's brown and made with 531 tubing. The seat was replaced in the 80's and I had new handlebar brakes added . Asking $100. If you want to see a picture go to: http://www.oldtenspeedgallery.com/ow...s-1970-raleigh
My bike is exactly like this one only brown.......I don't have a digital camera so I can't take a photo of it.

This is up by my parents, but they are away

They says it's a Columbia, but the double top tubes would seem to indicate it is a Huffy.
