Wish I knew how to post a link to this ad, but an extremely nice 1973 Paramount just showed up on the SF Bay Craigslist. $1,300 and it looks flawless... Too large for me though

Yes, that's the one. From the little bit I know about Paramounts, that looked like a pretty sharp one with a reasonable price to boot. Especially in the Bay Area!

It's not all original as the seller claims. It's had cable guides added, hubs and brakes are post '78, it's been repainted and the decals are incorrect.

Do you think he'd move on the price? I'd be interested in acquiring the frame, as long as there's no issues with it. I'd pay you for your time and I'd obviously cover shipping. Send me a pm with your contact info if you'd be willing to check into this.

I don't know why but there are half a dozen for sale around here today. The '64 for $700 in Berkeley seems most interesting if not the best condition. The non-chrome one in Concord is a head scratcher. The '87 in Lodi is a Waterford SLX

The question that comes to my mind was this bike repainted and restored at some point since 1973? It's darn near impossible to find a bike made back then to have the original paint and chrome to be in excellent condition; even stored the salt air in San Francisco should have pitted the chrome over all that time, but it is possible. I guess if it is all original from the paint, decals, down to the mechanicals then someone needs to grab that bike.

A super nice 50th anniversary Paramount, no price given, but I know this guy won't sell it anywhere near cheap from what I've seen of other bikes he's sold. Can't tell if was repainted and re-decaled but I would venture to guess probably, but it is a very nice bike.

He's been listing and re-listing that Tommasini for years now, same with the others (Casati, Scapin, etc). I guess he is a non-motivated seller.

Here's a Rabobank Colnago Master frame for $325 in San Fransisco; the seller mentions damage to the top tube but it may be a good project for someone here

This Bianchi Alfana in Bloomington, IN is a little rough but it is only $250. It is in the wrong category so maybe the seller will go a bit lower...

Those S&S couplers are the nice ones. They don't affect the ride quality much if at all.

Couple for the retired NBA players in your life. The Mercian has been for sale for at least 6 months (I may have posted it before), and the Panasonic might be the tallest bicycle I've ever seen.

"Tallest Production" at 28" frame. Panasonic made several models in this size and I sold a few. Post-assembly test rides could be tricky. For "tallest" try Googling a pic of Bill Walton and his customs.

Here's a Paramount PDG7 with 650 wheels that no one has snapped up yet.

Schwinn Paramount road bike

Schwinn Paramount road bike - $600 (Carytown)

Older Schwinn paramount. Awesome bike I just am ready for 700 not 650 wheels. Great for female beginner triathlete or cyclist. I used this bike for my first and only beginner triathlon season 3 years ago before babies came. I'll answer questions I know but would be best to come check it out. Thanks! Just got tuned at Endorphin fitness

He's a expensive seller, he's motivated to rip off the buyer to get prices that are just too much for a certain bike, but if the right buyer has been looking a long time for the right bike and hasn't found it and this seller has it no telling how much a person like that is willing to spend just to have a particular bike, and that's what this guy is doing, hoping for the right motivated buyer with money. I see nothing wrong with that, would I buy from him? no way, but I'm not that desperate to find a certain bike, he's just operating a business the way he sees fit, I know he's sold a few bikes way overpriced but like I said before the buyer wanted a specific bike in a specific condition and was willing to pay any price for it. I listed those two bikes here because someone here with the money may have been looking for one for years and doesn't care about the cost.
