^ Looks like he got going a little too fast one time and the brakes couldn't slow him down before he bumped into something.

That could explain the bent fork.

Is that a chain ring or a saw blade? Bet that thing would cut some wood!

1986 Peter Mooney Hand Made Steel Bike - Set up as Single Speed - $650 (Watertown)

I am the original owner of this Peter Mooney. I purchased the bike from Belmont Wheelworks in 1986. The frame is a Columbus tube set that was custom painted in a three color fade by CycleArt in California. It does have my initials on the top tube. It is a 56 cm frame, crank center to top tube center line. It was all Dura Ace originally and it still has the Dura Ace crank and brakes. It has a Mavic Ksyrium front wheel and an Alexrims B450 single speed rear. It has a pair of Scott cage pedals, Modolo bar and stem, Campagnolo seat post, Alias 143 seat. It could be converted back to a multi-speed if one desired to do so. It is local pickup only or I will take it to a local shop for packing and shipping but I would ask the buyer to deal with the shop directly concerning their services.

This is a classic steel frame and I did ride it consistently for 10 years or so. It has not really been ridden at all since and hung in dry storage until I converted it to a single speed. It's a member of the family but it needs to find a new home.

The fork does look bent a bit but that could be straightened by the right bike shop. What I really want to know is if the guy that owned it could turn that 90 tooth chainring and how fast could he go???

Yeah, motorpacing a train and the train slammed on the brakes. Hate it when that happens.

After 6 days I'd be shocked if it's still there. If it is, I'd take it, despite it not being my size.

If anyone can check out the bike for dents/bends/cracks and has facilitation experience, I'll take care of you. If you can pack profesionally and drop off at a FedEx outlet, I'll send you a shipping label and cover your time/resources. Just let me know dimensions and weight on the box. Feel free to drop a PM.

EDIT: Actually... after looking at the pics on a larger screen, I'm on the fence on this one. If the seller got down around $130 and no higher than $150, I'd do it. At $200, it's just not worth the cost of facilitation and shipping.

$130 isn't going to fly in NYC for a working bike. If you want it, ask @lostarchitect. That might be near him.

Most people want bikes more modern than that. Tubular wheels can be had for free since they are so burdensome to most people. Basically, the bike is priced right or too high. As @TimmyT points out, the cost of shipping and packing is more than you expected, making the bike not very valuable to most people.

^ Yeah, for NYC, Seattle, Portland, Toronto, I'd say it's priced about right, but no super deal. In my town it would sit forever on CL.
