Possible Motobecane Le Champion - $275 - Crown Heights Brooklyn

Frame colors look like it might be an early 70s Le Champion. Ad is short on information.

Looks very similar to the one in this recent thread https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-vi...-champion.html

Maybe @KonAaron Snake knows something. I know he's been after a Merckx for a while.
So Merckx did make 753 frames and I see no reason to say it isn't...I have a team Merckx labeled TSX that's 753. Agree on the 105, but parts can be changed. Merckx did have 753 cert builders.

Price seems pretty attractive to me, even with 105.

They did use 753 (and even 531)...not seeing anything discluding it and I don't think 753 would give it a premium over SL/SLX. I don't see a reason to lie in this case.

Hard to tell, but it looks like a repaint. All 753 Merckx I have seen in person have had fastback seatstay attachments, not EM logo caps. But again, there is always an exception with Merckx.

Mine has neither, but it's a team bike, so who knows.

I have seen caps on Merckx labeled 753 frames before, but I'm not certain either.

Either way, it's a complete Merckx for $700. Not bad

I took it so I hope it was a decent deal.
In LA that would have easily done $300 ..;Paint looks pretty good too..I would certainly have bought it. You did well.

The price on this bike has been going down. My size too. However, I just can't stand those failed decals on vintage Pinarellos. How come they're the only prestigious bike brand that has that problem?

Nice looking bike, never heard of the brand which is odd since there is information the internet about the brand. But the first photo makes the fork appear to be slightly bent inward, not sure if that's just the way the photo was taken of if it is indeed bent back. If the fork is bent and the frame is ok the fork could be bent back by an LBS with the proper tools.

Not a high-end Motobecane, but at $100 OBO, this seems like a bit of all right.

I think that Pinarello decals were applied on top of the clear coat

Here's a nice looking Team Miyata in Madison, WI for $200, the seller says he will also throw in a NOS Ultegra crankset. Love the paint.

Urago bicycle antique

1950s Urago in Davis, CA for $450 - looks like it might clean up nicely, and has a neat derailleur system!

Seller says they'll accept any reasonable offer. I'd toss out $60 for an offer and be content settling between $70-75. It's not like it's super high-end but the Jubilee models were (IMO) just as good as Peugeot's better P10 variants on frame quality and properties, but the drivetrain was normally better.

Is that a red bread tie holding it on towards the seat tube? Yikes...

Guess they weren't comfortable reaching another 8" to the DT to shift?

Wow, that's awesome. So the pads are attached to spring-loaded pistons and push in when the cables are drawn tight and spin the outer ring? Or am I not getting the gist? When were those made/sold?

Mid 80's era. Over engineered but definitely unique. The ebay listed set are likely an early version and if you google images, you'll see different and more refined versions. Not much info out there about them but the following link is somewhat helpful.
