Trek 510 for $45 looks 22ish, not sure what's up with that hideous looking (Pyramid brand?) replacement fork.

Well, just committed to this bike, going to pick it up Sunday morning. First real C/V adventure. I'm oddly excited. Any additional info anyone can provide on this model?

Very nice Bianchi, @Abe_Froman! It doesn't look like it needs much work at all - perhaps a period-correct stem and saddle, if you so choose. If anyone can give you the full story, it would be @bianchigirl. Have fun!

Thanks! I've actually got a near new black Brooks Pro saddle in the garage, and a cinelli stem, albeit woth an ugly gouge waiting to be put on the bike.

Anyone in the Florida panhandle/Southern Alabama area interested in taking a look at these with me? Looks like some pretty interesting old Fujis.

Resto-mod

My old 85 Raleigh USA got a frame transplant. Just moved the parts to this more height appropriate 78 Raleigh Competition GS. Though Shimano 600 wasn't available in '78. Next comes finding the time to ride!

Trek 790 in Columbus;

I saw this bike- bought a Marinoni from the seller. It's as clean as it looks, and with a Brooks saddle.

Sorry if anyone responded to the Washington DC ad. It looks like they lifted my photos and text in its entirety. That DC ad has been flagged and removed...

There was this one too:

To me, both seem shady. I'm not seeing Bay Area style in the background but then again I could be wrong.

An EARLY Pinarello with Nuovo Record for $75? Sounds too good to be true, but anyone near should be burning up the phone lines.

These must be scams. But what's the scam? They get your first name and a phone number I guess, but then what?

There are image finder websites where you can upload a photo and it will find where its been used. The Motobecane is also here https://hiveminer.com/User/CV6Enterprises/Interesting

so almost certainly a scam. The Pinarello didn't turn up a hit, but the photo quality is too good to be by someone who doesn't know what they're taking a picture of. IMO

I asked the SF bogus ad poster what the angle is and they responded:

"The angle is I was bored and wanted to amuse people. Start slow and steadily get more silly. See how many people bit on all of the fake ads.

No real harm but keeps it to youre self. "

Folks on the forums have mentioned this bike lately. Never seen one until now and this one is not in terrific condition--check out that stem binder bolt--but it might appeal to someone.
