1974 Peugeot PX10LE, 62cm, $450/OBO - $450 (Logan Square)
Date: 2009-08-19, 3:00PM CDT
Reply to: sale-z67ze-1331712956@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Up for your consideration is a 1974 Peugeot PX10LE, Reynolds 531 tubing throughout with Simplex droupouts and fork ends, 62cm seat tube (c-c) and a 60cm top tube (c-c) in good riding condition. The bike handles superbly and shifts and brakes well. Best suited for riders over 6'.

This classic French racing machine has been completely gone over, with all bearings cleaned, repacked and adjusted, dropouts aligned, wheels trued and many new parts, though as many of the original parts as possible were retained.

If you do not prefer the tubular wheels or have a set of your own (700c or 27" will work), I will remove them and the tire savers and knock $100 off the price. Similarly, if you do not require the Brooks Professional saddle, I will knock $50 off the price. So, essentially, you can have this bike sans wheels and saddle for $300.

The frame has plenty of patina, with evidence of numerous touch-ups over the years, but since the decals were in such good condition, I decided against a repaint. After all, this bike is meant to be ridden. Components are:
Mafac "Racer" brakes w/tire savers
Mavic Championat Du Monde tubular rims with Normandy Luxe Competition hubs (rear wheel has been replaced, but is an extremely close match, the same rim and hub model)
Atom freewheel
Brand spanking new Vittoria Rally 23x700c tubular tires
Brooks Professional leather saddle
Stronglight Competition headset and bottom bracket
NOS Mafac brake levers with half hoods and lever covers
Simplex seatpost
Stronglight 93 cranks w/original Stronglight dust caps
Lyotard touring pedals
Simplex front and rear derailleurs and shifters
Sedis chain

New parts include: all cables and cable housing (including brake straddle cables), tires and Tressostar black cotton handlebar tape.

1974 was the first year for the PX10LE and the differences between this model and the PX10 are few: plain head tube lugs instead of black, fancy Nervex head tube lugs, steeper geometry up front with a slightly longer wheelbase, and eyelets on the fork ends and dropouts for fenders. Otherwise, all equipment and tubing was the same. More of a year-round PX10 I suppose.

Many more pictures can be seen here: http://s378.photobucket.com/albums/o...1974%20PX10LE/

MINT 21" Shogun 600 - $300 (Somerville - Teele)
Date: 2009-08-20, 9:09PM EDT
Reply to: sale-6ehp3-1333954866@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

For sale is what could pass as a BRAND NEW 21" Shogun 600. Born in late '83 or early '84, fitted with an electric blue paint job that looks like glass with hand painted two-tone pinstriping and perfect decals. It's got a FULL Shimano 105 Golden Arrow groupset in perfect condition. Never been crashed, never been laid down - heck, it's hardly been ridden. Brand new brake cables and casing for safety, brand new (with zero miles) Panaracer Paselas in 27" x 1" on alloy Araya rims. Brand new Fizik bar wrap, brand new hoods on the levers (hoods are Dia-compe, levers are Shimano, take them if you want). Great new gel saddle. Hubs spin wonderfully, freewheel and chainrings have perfect teeth.

Check out the full set of pictures on Flickr. Seriously, even the awesome photos don't do it justice.

Come take it for a spin and you won't want to get off. It really flies. Short chainstays make it handle like a dream. I tried putting a longer seat post on it but I felt like a Shriner - it's just too small for me. $300, or make me a reasonable offer.

Classic French bike from the mid 1980s. This is a mid-80s steel frame Motobecane Le Champion. 61 cm / 24 inches (center to center of seat tube). Original Campagnolo Record front and rear derailleurs, Suntour Superbe brakes and levers, handbuilt Saturn wheels, with Nitto stem and bars. Brand new Vittorio tires and new tubes, this is a fun, old school ride, and as the top of Motobecane's line back in the days when the brand was built and run from France. Fantastic for commuting and cruising around town.

Call 503 232 0476 if interested.

I talked to this guy, he's in Indiana, this is an early competition (not the GS)
It's a little rough, I don't know why he didn't post pic's, he sent me a couple, this has ornate (maybe nervex (sp?) lugs that have been painted over, it's not an international, otherwise I would have jumped on it even if it's too tall for me

http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/bik/1328075536.html

His price might be a little high, but by now he has to be tired of dealing with craigslist idiots

Reply to: sale-n299u-1335348130@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

I've got a really nice Dave Scott Ironman that doesn't fit me . It's pink and yellow (yup, that one) and has a seatube measurement of around 55cm-56cm . Shimano 105 equipped from head to toe (as well as a brand new headset) including cranks, with a measurement of 172.5, which themselves still house the biopace rings (52- 42t) that are in great shape.
Brand new front deep v by vueleta with a continental grand prix 4000 attached, while the rear wheel is a Mavic open road.
The bike is in great shape sans minor, minor rust on the top of the seat stay as well as scuffs and scratches here and there. Nothing serious. Bike is ready to go. Honestly, I'm probably on the thing as you're read this, just trying to enjoy the last moments...

I hope to find a loving home!
