It is a little more challenging when we walk a friend's farmland near Taylors Falls. Birds are few and far between. It usually works out to be a nice walk in the fields with nary a bird in sight. Now back to our regular "where is the good deal" programming. |

Thus... For sale is my beloved 1987 Cannondale "Black Lightning" (yes, that is the actual frame name). This was a classic frame for its time, known for its gorgeous glossy black frame and gold component mix and accents. I bought this from a collector who had put 500 miles on it, and I've put on 1000 in the last two years. The majority of the components are stock including downtube shifters, brake levers, front/rear derailleurs (Suntour Sprint indexed-front & friction-rear), brakes, cranks and crank arms (Sugino AP 130). It has all new cables (shift and brake), and was just professionally tuned. I'm including a pair of awesome 700cc grey, bombproof Wolber clincher rims wrapped in yellow Continental GP 4000 tires (only ~125 miles on these tires/wheels); the tires alone cost $125. I'm also including a pair of black 700cc tubular rims mated to Roval hubs. Size is a 56/57 (56.5cm top tube center-to-center). You will not find a nicer looking period bike; the black paint is still super glossy, and I get lots of comments when I take this out for a club ride. It has never been ridden in the rain, and still rides ever so smooth. The drivetrain is very, very clean, and gets lubed after every ride. This bike was born when Cannondale made really great frames in the late 80's, utilizing oversized aluminum tubing to accomplish a great light-weight, buzz-resistant and stable ride. There is a little rust and a few dings on the paint the Allez decal on one side has a scratch. Replacement parts: pedals, seat tube, and seat. It has two stickers on the frame - Scott and Powerbar.
