These are very tasty birds.

The game farm we go to is about 10,000 acres, and the sport includes walking the prairie with the dogs.

A bonus is shooting a few of these and bringing them home for a delicious meal.

They raise these for this purpose, and we are thankful for this opportunity.

Harder than it looks.

Phew! For a minute I though someone had taught these birds to to stalk and kill.

Although, they do provide a bit of a fright and excitement when they take off right next to you!

I know Peasants are tasty, but have not had any in years and I know how the big hunting operations go, ala Dick Chenney and his hunting exploits.

the add just struck me as funny, "here buy this bird and go shoot it" LOL

Yep, he served as quite a poster child for hunters everywhere with his exploits.

The ad is odd though, I agree.

Essentially that is what we do though. We pay for birds bagged!

It is a little more challenging when we walk a friend's farmland near Taylors Falls.

Birds are few and far between.

It usually works out to be a nice walk in the fields with nary a bird in sight.

Now back to our regular "where is the good deal" programming.

Gios Torino Super Record-57cm ......vintage. Mostly Campognolo components but some Modolo brakes/ derailier shifters. The lightest bike you've ever picked up! Needs Tune up and possible some components changed(chain , freewheel, ) as has been sitting for over two decades unused. The frame alone has special value regardless of the rest. Some minor dings and scratches.

Black Lightning!!

1987 Cannondale 'Black Lightning' 56 - $550 (Cambridge)

Date: 2010-11-28, 6:44AM EST
Reply to: sale-fqsqg-2083145413@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

I'm sad that it has come to this, but I'm moving in two weeks and need to make room in the car. Thus... For sale is my beloved 1987 Cannondale "Black Lightning" (yes, that is the actual frame name). This was a classic frame for its time, known for its gorgeous glossy black frame and gold component mix and accents. I bought this from a collector who had put 500 miles on it, and I've put on 1000 in the last two years. The majority of the components are stock including downtube shifters, brake levers, front/rear derailleurs (Suntour Sprint indexed-front & friction-rear), brakes, cranks and crank arms (Sugino AP 130). It has all new cables (shift and brake), and was just professionally tuned. I'm including a pair of awesome 700cc grey, bombproof Wolber clincher rims wrapped in yellow Continental GP 4000 tires (only ~125 miles on these tires/wheels); the tires alone cost $125. I'm also including a pair of black 700cc tubular rims mated to Roval hubs. Size is a 56/57 (56.5cm top tube center-to-center).
You will not find a nicer looking period bike; the black paint is still super glossy, and I get lots of comments when I take this out for a club ride. It has never been ridden in the rain, and still rides ever so smooth. The drivetrain is very, very clean, and gets lubed after every ride. This bike was born when Cannondale made really great frames in the late 80's, utilizing oversized aluminum tubing to accomplish a great light-weight, buzz-resistant and stable ride.
Price is $550 or best offer, but this needs to go in the next 7 days. E-mail for more details or call Ryan at 978-760-0327 to arrange to view.

Miyata 712 1988 - $250 (Belmont)

Reply to: sale-ytuz4-2082945225@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

1988 Miyata 712 in colors Peacock and Black. Shimano 105 components, excellent condition hardly ridden. Wolber rims. Very good - excellent condition. The original seat is replaced and it may need a new chain. The paint is near perfect. Size : from the top of the seat post to the center of the bottom bracket is 22.0 inches.

"The 712 is very nice, mid-range model. The STB (spline triple butted) tubing is excellent and the Shimano 105 components are decent. The geometry is designed for avid cyclists, triathletes and century riders. Not as steep and harsh as a pure race bicycle, but as slack and comfy as a touring or recreational model either." From the internet

Wow! - Here is an absolutely gorgeous Raleigh Grand Sport, but in a size suited to a smaller man or a woman . . . Only a hundred bucks right now, but I doubt that it will stay that way.
