Dovetube, welcome to C&V. This thread is for people to point out (potential) good deals to each other. It looks like you are commenting on things you have seen on eBay and perhaps bought yourself, but it's hard to tell as your writing is so confusing and you're talking about so many different things. If you see something that you think is great and want to point it out, try doing that, one at a time, with a *link* to the auction or CL listing. For other subjects start a different thread but again...one at a time is probably best. For goofy/funny/insane auction and CL listings there's the 'Wacky World' thread.

I need another MTB like hole in my head but I may go look if it is still around when I get home next week.

That's a great deal for a Mt. Whitney, I rarely see them for less that $400. Having said that, I can't imagine it rides like anything other than a tank, the angles look like the bike in your avatar , but with longer chainstays.

Vintage 1971 Bianchi 10 spd. Road Bike Campagnolo Nisi Nervar - $150 (Hanson)

Vintage 1971 Bianchi 10 speed road bike. Classic Italian road bikes like this are getting extremely hard to find! 54cm frame, approx. 31 inch standover height. Made in Italy, Campagnolo derailleurs front and back, Campy shifters, Nervar sport cranks, Nisi sew-up rims, Bianchi stamped hubs, 3T stem, Universal Brakes(1 lever is broken). It needs a good cleaning and a tune up/tires but it will be a sweet vintage Italian ride when you're done! $175 Cash/Pickup Only!! Or possible trade for quality pre 1985 BMX bike/parts

Here's a darned nice mixte. It's also fairly tall, so this is a rare find at an excellent price. It also happens to be about two miles from me, but I don't know the seller.

Fashionable French Mixte--1976 Motobecane Grand Touring (21.5-inch) - $245 (South Orange)

Quote:
This lovely Champagne (gold) Motobecane Grand Touring has a mixte frame that was made in France in 1976 with Vitus double-butted main tubes and Bocama Luxe Pro lugs. With relaxed geometry and compliant frame, this vintage classic be excellent basic transportation. Or you could make a fabulous mixte fixie -- its horizontal Suntour GS forged dropouts (with alignment set screws) make it eminently suitable for a fixed-gear conversion.

This bike has a medium-sized 21.5-inch frame, probably best for riders 5'5" to 5'10"

Frame:
Vitus double-butted main tubes, Bocama Luxe Pro lugs
Suntour GS forged dropouts (with alignment set screws)
Champagne (gold) with brick red outlines of the lugs and other accents
Made in France

Simplex downtube shifters
Sun Tour VGT Luxe rear derailleur
Suntour Cyclone front derailieur

Mighty Tour 170mm cotterless crankset
Sugino chainrings 34/44

Durable 36-spoke wheels
Normandy alloy hubs with quick release
Rigida alloy rims
Madea Pro Compe 5-speed freewheel 14/17/22/27/32

SR alloy seat post
Avocet Saddle

Pivo professional handlebars with randonneur bend
SR stem

Geometry:
Seat tube: 21.5" (center-top)
Top tube (virtual): 55cm
Head Tube: 11cm
Down tube: 62cm

Chain stay: 43cm

Rare Masi Nuovo Strada Frame - 80's - Cinelli, Campagnolo (South Shore)

Date: 2012-04-22, 8:04AM EDT
Reply to: s8kjw-2972303397@sale.craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
I have for sale a 54cm Masi frame from the 80's. This Nuovo Strada frame is made from Columbus tubing, has front and rear Campy dropouts, and a Cinelli bottom bracket shell. The bottom bracket shell has the "m" cutout, the fork is chromed and in excellent shape, and there are several pantographed Masi's around the frame. The only thing that has been altered on this frame is the removal of the mounts for downtube shifters. This can easily be corrected by using a different style shifter that does not require the mounts, or making this a perfect candidate for a single speed or fixie conversion. I have included detailed pictures of the frame. Asking $300.

Mens Trek 1400 road bicycle - $50 (New Canaan, CT)

This bike is in overall good condition. I had new tires put on it when I bought it used a year or so ago and have put probably less than 50 miles on them. I also put new handle bar wraps on it a couple months ago so those are still in great shape too. The tire pump has an adapter to fit the slim style nozzle that the tires require and that is included with the bike. The bike has been kept in the garage so it has never been left exposed to the elements for very long. I used it for getting to and from the train station, about a mile and a half away, so I cant say how suitable/comfortable it would be for long distance riding. It has old-style shifters that work just fine, but might take a minute to get used to if you have never used them before. Im negotiable on the price depending on what kind of response I get from this ad. Please email if you have any questions or would like more pictures. Can fit in the back of an Station Wagon or SUV easily by popping the front tire off, no tools required. Anything smaller and I can break it down a little further for you if you would like.
Thanks!

I can't dispute criticisms of my writing, I've been asked if I can read it, and... The numbers as a search parameter bring anybody interested to a listing. I really don't like posting links because I don't know how to do it, and leafing through the thread the links dangle and make the post meaningless; this would imply a convergence of my gobblety gook and admittedly useful for the moment references.

Up for sale is a 1989 trek 520 touring bike. Frame size is 24". Fully lugged frame construction, with beautifiul lugs. Fastback style seat cluster. Investment cast lugs with "trek" stamped into every lug. Mid-fork braze-ons for a low-rider front rack. Frame is made out of true temper steel tubing, made in the usa. 24" frame. 34.5" standover height.

Check out the specs and geometry at: http://vintage-trek.com/TrekBrochure1989.htm

Bicycle is in exceedingly fantastic condition- there are no dents or scratches on the frame, and the frame is largely free of any chips and scratches.

Full deore touring component group- deore rear derailleur, front derailleur, cranks, high profile cantilever brakes. Strong wheels suitable for touring or comutting on rough streets. Shifters are shimano 105, indexed. Bicycle rides, shifts, and brakes fantastically.

New cables and housings all around, new bar tape. Rear rack included.

I also have a review from bicycling magazine from 1989 reviewing this bike, which I could email to you if you wanted to check it out.

I could ship the bike, if you are from out of town, but all packing/shipping costs would have to be paid by the buyer and payment would have to be made in advance via money order.

It is still available, there is no need to ask if it is still for sale. It is!
