Cynic.

What do you suppose a full Superbe pro group with wheels is worth?

Don't know, don't care right now. I didn't render an opinion on the worth of the bike, only an observation.

I ran across this earlier and debated posting it. however I don't think we often see large Nishikis in good shape. plus this gent gets lots of points for advertising.

Well, the logistics were complicated, but K and I should have been more aggressive perhaps. Still, if it was a fellow C&Ver a simple PM along the lines of 'say, are you gonna eat that?' would have been nice.

This is one killer of a bike (it is a Gran Rally, btw) and can be a bargain for someone close to Pueblo, CO (hanging stuff and all...)

Speaking of Craigslist, I have been looking for a way to do automated searches of CL for some time. Even thought about writing my own script, but of course Craig's Rules states that it is not allowed and my IP will be blocked by CL, . Anyhow, after a lot of searching I finally found an application that does this task on a continuous basis, searching keywords 24/7, for free, details at: https://www.bikeregistry.com/search_bike.php. Reporting back when it finds what you are looking for, via email and/or SMS. We use it to find stolen bikes. But it could be used to look for rare or hard to find bikes.

Will take some screenshots, write up a summary and post the results in a mini-sub page at the same URL. This system is based on peer-to-peer (aka grid) computing, works really slick!

Batavus " TOUR DE L'EUROPE " rare road bike - $180 (So St Paul)

Yes, I've owned a number of Batavus' . However , none were as cool as this one.. Very interesting lugwork. Awesomely cool fork. The not uncommon Simplex rear works very smoothly. Alloy MAXY cranks are a pleasant suprise, instead of the steel, crappy, pin-jobs. Many interesting features and details on this baby. Very cool " PERJOHN " leather seat. Message for further details. 22.5" frame. 32.5" standover. Although tires hold air, it really needs NEW TIRES. This bike rides VERY smooth and VERY fast.

This isn't my auction (NOS Centurions on Ebay), I hope this hasn't been posted here before.

This is one of the fabled 288, found and freed from storage. Undamaged by time due to the superior Japanese storage standards, the bike is like it just came off the boat from Japan in 1981!
$400, maroon or blue, ready to be assembled. Interesting.

Handmade Davidson Road Bike - $900 (Cambridge)

Date: 2009-11-19, 10:25PM EST
Reply to: sale-bm2p7-1474060091@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Hello fellow bicycle enthusisasts! I have for sale a beautiful late 1980's road bike handmade by Bill Davidson of Seattle. See https://davidsonbicycles.com/ for more info on his bikes. This model, the "Impulse" was not a custom fab, it is a standard built 54cm road racing frame. It is built with all Campy components including 8 speed Ergo shifters, and Mavic SUP Ceramic wheels. The frame measures 54 cm c to c on the down tube and 54 cm c to c on the top tube. It has a Cinelli stem and Cinelli drop bars and new style saddle with retro aero campagnolo seatpost. The bike is in excellent condition! A very kind donor gave this to our Worcester Earn-a-Bike program, and we are offering it for sale to help with our fundraising. Research has shown that a Davidson impulse with full Campy is easily worth the $900.00 asking price, so we are firm on the price and will go to ebay with it if we can't find a local buyer. Please call Gray at 508-579-9093 after 3 pm Friday or after 9 am Saturday for more info, or email for more pics. Thanks for looking!
