I saw this one.

If it were in St. Paul, I likely would have looked at it by now.

If that's original paint the frame has to be worth triple that. Amazing...I'd be on the phone if it fit.

Seriously. My bike kitty is currently in the red but, if it were a size larger, I'd be asking a nearby friend to facilitate....

The price and ad feel right though - and how many people would respond to that Trek? I'd think a scam would utilize something more fancy. Maybe a student operating from two areas?

Well outta my current price range. Maybe someone else? I made sure to include the CL posting number at the bottom just in case...

[h=2]1972 Schwinn Paramount Chrome Lugged Frame 56 cm - $1000 (NE Portland)[/h]

Location: NE Portland

1972 chrome schwinn paramount. Not sure of the exact size. I normally ride a 56 to 57 cm (top tube measurement) road bike and this bike fits me well.
Serial number L726.

Original parts include campagnolo super record front and rear derailleurs, campy rear hub, Sakae cranks (double), campy downtube shifter, 5 sp rear campy cassette, campy seatpost, dura ace brakes. I swapped out the brake levers, bars, stem, front wheel, and saddle.

I bought it off the original owner about 7 years ago in San Francisco.

The lugged frame is in excellent condition, however the drive side drop out is missing some chrome.

I seldom ride this bike any more, mostly on short trips around town. I used it as a training bike when I first got it and had no problem keeping up with fast roadies on modern race bikes. The quality of the ride is really spectacular.

I hate to sell it, but the garage is too full with bikes and I want to get a new mountain bike.

Awesome Ladies Mixte Road Bike - $125 (Joppa)

This is a very nice Austro-Daimler 12 speed Puch Pathfinder AD in the Mixte style. The lugged 2600 Manganese Alloy steel frame is 21in from center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube. The frame is in very good shape with only some scratches from normal wear. There are no dings dents or rust. Wheels are 27in Weinmann Aluminum alloy rims laced to quick release hubs. Brakes are Weinmann centerpull in rear and side pull in the front, with Weinmann levers with brake release. Drive train is Sugino alloy cranks, Atom 14-30 6 speed freewheel and Suntour AR derailleurs and stem shifters. The bike has been completely overhauled with new grease in all bearing surfaces (bottom bracket, headset and hubs), chain cleaned and lubed, new front tire, new derailleur and brake cables, brakes inspected and are fine. Bike is ready to ride. I am 5 minutes from Exit 74 on I-95. cash at pickup only. Thanks

Any one interested in a Bianchi "Proto" built with MAX tubing festooned with a C-Record group? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bianchi-Prot...item2a35438581

Seems spendy at $3300 plus $100 shipping

I can't tell if it has stamped or forged dropouts. If it has stamped dropouts, then it is about $100 too high.

I love those engraved GB bars.

This is a great deal to try these out - would probably fascilitate...

http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/bik/4246011474.html

2 continental spike claw studded tires-50 for both - $50 (Abington)
Great winter weather tires for serious riders... I have two barely ridden spike claw tires, MSRP is 80.00 plus tax and shipping for 1 tire. These were barely used and are in good condition.

120 spikes embedded in the knobs for traction on ice. Aggressive yet well spaced knob structure has excellent traction yet resists packing up with mud and snow. Ample volume keeps tire from sinking easily. 3 plies/84 TPI. 65 PSI Max. Wire bead. 26 x 2.1 Inch (54-559 ISO). 840 grams.

Smoking deal, Brad! Well done.

Perhaps that bike will be making a trip across the pond at some point, for a vintage ride in Italy, UK, or someplace else

agreed. GB bars are pretty.

didn't notice the DOs. looked at the pics again. the DO details seems deliberately omitted—if seller knew what he was doing.
rough guessing from 4th and 7th photo, they seem stamped.
thanks for the insights.
