[h=2]$165 Vintage All Steel Specialized Stumpjumper Mtn Bike - Pristine Shape (Woodbury, MN)[/h]http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/bik/4450936782.html

Absolutely clean. Shimano Deore hubs spin like butter. Good tires. Everything works perfectly. Lubed, tuned and ready to ride. No rust. No dents. Great original paint. Paint chips have been touched up with matching paint (included).

The 1989 Specialized catalog says this bike has an all CroMo steel triple butted frame, double taper stays and a double butted CroMo steel fork.

UPGRADES INCLUDE: Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur, Shimano STX crankset (24-34-42), sealed bottom bracket, newer Shimano 7 speed rear cluster (11-28), Avocet Spenco Gel seat.

The frame is not quite my size. I was planning to convert the bike to an all-rounder or adventure touring bike. This model Stumpjumper is favored for such conversions because of the robust, light weight steel frame, 17" long chain stays, double butted steel fork and relaxed frame angles.

SIZE: Stand over height 31-1/2". Top tube 23" c-c. Seat tube 22" c-top.

FRAME SERIAL NUMBER: GX874993

revcp 05-02-14 02:33 PM

I think I just missed on this one. I was contact number two. contact number one is looking at the bike tonight. I cannot imagine that he will not take it.

Yes, but that's a UO-8. The give away is that the rear triangle doesn't have chrome socks. Also, the crankset is a cottered steel 3-pin 116 BCD.

No races could ever be won with a dork disk that massive.

johnplf 05-02-14 06:09 PM

Looks like not a PX-10.

If you go, seeing as how it's near Elm Grove, pick up some cinnamon swirl bread.

Yep, thank God for flakes. The SJ is in fabulous shape. After bringing it home I did a drop conversion with parts on hand. I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

Looks to be a 1985 Centurion Dave Scott Ironman

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=378158

Centurion Dave Scott Triathalon Bike

Listed as 53cm, but appears from the picture to be possibly larger. Seller replaced the downtube shifters with thumb shifters. If it's a 85, frame has those weird round Shimano shifter bosses with the M4.5 bolt (perhaps seller has original shifter parts in a box).

I'm not a fan of any Peugeot, they had noodly frames, but they looked nice.

Holy cow,
A Tandem frame that would almost fit the wife and I.
Stoker spot would need to be just a tad bit smaller.
I ride a 25"+ frame and she rides a 23-24" Frame.

I only wish I could afford it right now.

Campagnerdo - unable to send PM. I recently bought a 22.5" '86 High Sierra that fits great, but it has rough paint. I plan on converting it to a drop bar tourer and can live with the paint, but am keeping my eyes out for a deal on a chromed frame before I start my build.

* Reynolds 531 frame - (58cm)
* Superbe / Suntour Pro components...Brakes / Derailers / Shifters / Crank Set.
* Mavic G40 Rims
* Cinelli Bars
* Specialized Touring II Tires (700X25C)
* Lapadre SR Seatpost

This bike can be found on Vintage-Trek.com...It is valued at $808.00. It was the most expensive (non-specialized) road bike TREK sold in 1983! It was the best you could buy out of the shop.

The price drop put it in someone's cross hairs. I contacted the seller and would have made the drive. It has been sold.
