54cm Nishiki Modulus Rebuild - Almost Never Ridden - $200 (Downingtown/W.Philly)

Date: 2012-01-30, 10:11AM EST
Reply to: sale-k3nvs-2808477315@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
For sale is a 1994 54cm Nishiki Modulus. This is a perfect bike for the city - very low key but with solid components. Upright riding posture, brakes at the ready. The original owner won this bike in a race and hung it on his garage wall for more than 10 years before I bought it. I've ridden the bike once. The hideous Miami Vice green paint was stripped off and a rustproofing primer was applied followed by gloss black paint. There are still a few blemishes here and there. Full Shimano Tiagra drivetrain, compact crank. Replaced the brake pads with Kool Stop salmon pads. The brake calipers and down tube shifters are original (Shimano Exage) along with the rims and 7 speed freewheel. Replaced the undersized Cinelli bars with heat treated Nitto Moustache bars and added Tektro RL720 brake levers on top of a Nitto Technomic Stem. Saddle is a Nashbar road saddle, pedals are from Performance Bike, I have toe clips for them. I live in Downingtown and work at Penn, you can arrange to see the bike at either place or in between. Thanks for looking.

Pretty much...

https://www.velominati.com/blog/the-rules/

Rule #12 / The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
While the minimum number of bikes one should own is three, the correct number is n+1, where n is the number of bikes currently owned. This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

Ah, yes, the Spouse constant, different for every Spouse of course. It will take some experimentation to find which number is your own Spouse's threshold.

I have found that with time, the S constant can actually increase given the spouse's changing tolerance for clutter*, the perfection of your excuse for having such clutter* or your skill at hiding such clutter*.

Whatever your case may be, always be aware of the S constant and operate within the safety of S-1.

clutter* : A term that could be used by the Spouse in reference to you N bikes

Not Ebay or Craigslist, but a local parts store has a frame that I'm pretty certain is a Romic (same colors as my Romic, Romic-style serial number from 1982)--if anyone is interested I'll pm the shop name. (No connection other than I buy bike parts from them).

Vintage Sachs New Success Hubset - 36 hole - $60 (Jamaica Plain)

Reply to: sale-ssqav-2817936831@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
For sale is a pair of immaculate Sachs New Succes hubs. They are a matching pair with 36 holes in both the front and rear. The rear spacing is 130 and the front is 100mm. The bearings are sealed and in excellent condition, these are truly amazing hubs that I've been saving for some mystical build in the future. The polish is clean and shiny, but the decals have been rubbed off.
Perfect for a touring or randonneuring machine, or even your vintage mtb build. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks.

Very Nice 84 Team Fuji...looks showroom new. I'd buy it, looks about my size, but a little rich for my blood at the moment at $375! https://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/bik/2801965749.html
Very rare in very good condition Team Fuji Track / Crit bike. weighs in at about 20lbs is hand made in Japan and quad butted all Fuji chrome moly.
This was their highest end bike that they made that you could buy off the shelf (the Opus IV and also the Professional measured models were made-to-order).
I have the even rarer Opus IV so I am going to let this Team Model go, even though it is in better shape. It gets tons of attention whenever I would ride it.

Standover of 30"-31" ... I am 5ft 9in and have plenty of room on this bike.

This is a rare bike, and a pro level racer from back in the day. The bike is super fast. Compact design perfect for crit racing. The ultimate hipster machine.
Suntour parts are in great shape. It even has the vintage ribbon wrap and tires that are in excellent shape. Comparable featured vintage itlaian bikes will set you back $800 on ebay.

Body is in very good condition and to be completely honest there are a just couple small nicks , blems, and etc from being 28 years old.
From 5 feet away the thing looks perfect.
Has been set up to ride by Jordan over at Velochamp. Price is firm. This frame sells for $350 in good shape on eBay.
I don't have the heart to part it out.

Here is something you don't see everyday, atleast I don't. A Fuji Cambridge V "Camelback'

I can't speak for the price $195 but is kind of neat. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1983-Fuj...item35b925341c

Brand new 19" 1984 Bridgestone MB1. It is nearly identical to the 1985 in the catalog found here: https://sheldonbrown.com/bridgestone/...tone-mb-1.html . Double butted chromolly throughout and bullitproof reliability! The components are all Shimano. The handle bars are alloy bullmoose bars as they were desgned by Tom Richey but his were steel; it took Nitto to make them out of an alloy. Rivendell bikes has a steel version for $125 on special sale. The color is dark grey that is a little blueish. There can be only one. Stay tuned Friday for the last batch of NOS Bridgestones including more Sirius, a Grand Velo 2000 and two Grand Velo NJS Japanese professional racing bikes in the road version. The last batch sold out. Please include a phone number in your reply.

Someone on the forum was trying to buy one of these, a while back. Pretty good price for a itsy-bitsy framed Ironman. $150
