I rode a Firenze all through High School. They gave them away in Madison WI at an appliance/furniture store with any purchase. Buy a Laz-E-Boy and get a free 10-speed. Buy a Microwave, get a free 10-speed. Buy a dishwasher...you get the picture. The place was called American TV or Crazy TV Lenny's -depending on the day of the week I think. Crazy TV Lenny gave away a million free bikes over a period of 10 years or so.

The Firenze was indestructible. Mine was a virtual CX bike and took it off-road on single-tracks and even would ride it around the BMX track regularly. INDESTRUCTIBLE. I was racing Moto-cross and Enduro at the time and could really cook on a bicycle and the thing took all the abuse I could throw at it. Bent a few forks but those were pretty available to swap out. True the wheels every once in a while and that was about all it ever needed. Thing probably weighed 35lbs though.

1987 Pantographed Bianchi (25")Black - $450 (Billerica)

https://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bik/2929718017.html

This is a rare Japanese Cromoly Double Butted bike with all Suntour 6 speed Indexed shifting Components.

The rear seat stays are stamped "Bianchi" & all drop-outs are stamped "Bianchi" . Side tops of fork crown are Stamped with a "B". I've been looking for 3 years for this same bike in a slightly smaller frame and have not been able to find one.

I believe that 1987 was the last year for Bianchi to have pantographed frames (Bianchi stamped). 1987 was the only year that Bianchi pantographing (stamped on frame) was done on any Japanese Bianchi. Bike is light and fast.

I polished the aluminum rims. Spokes are stainless steal. Wheel bearings have been cleaned and re-greased.

All Bearings have been cleaned and packed with new grease. Brand new Kevlar gum wall High Pressure Tires and brand new chain and brand new cloth bar tape. Original "Bianchi Selle Italia" seat (no rips or tears) and all original components.

Send me your number and the best time to call, I will call you ASAP. High-Rez pictures are available on request.

Thats funny two weeks ago this was advertised as an '86 and the last year for pantographed frames. It is actually an '87 Sport SX with Suntour Alpha 5000, the original MSRP was about $420. If he can get $450 for that I'll have to try and sell mine too.

Price is a little high IMO, but after seeing another thread on here yesterday about a pink Trek, figured I'd post this.

This is a great bike in excellent working condition. It is really clean and no rust is present. It is a 1985, limited series, 12 speed, 700 series. There are many accessories including a bike pump, repair kit, 2 water bottles, and a cyclometer, all of which were purchased new with the bike. It is really Many of the parts are Campagnolo including the brakes, gears, and pedals. The handle bars are Cinelli, and the wheels are Mavic. The bike frame is 22 inches. The tires are flat and I am unsure if they are useable. If you would like additional pictures just let me know. I live in Burton, but I would be glad to come towards Houston or somewhere in between. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me on my cell phone at (405) 659-3962. My name is Bo. Please no calls after 10 p.m. Thanks, and have a great day.

I don't think that's high at all...I'd be asking around that for a high end Trek with high end parts. If that were local, I'd buy it and love it.

There is no price, it is an auction with 3 days left. Are you asking what it is worth or was there a BIN option?

I just restored a Schwinn super sport and a 81 motobecane jubilee sport and will sell one i usually use CL or ebay buy wow this thread is specific to vintage bikes. NIce.

Any members who purchased from here tell me how. Both bikes are perfect condition.

'83 Team Fuji 58cm fully upgraded - $450 (Lowell/Boston)

Date: 2012-03-30, 12:58PM EDT
Reply to: 4wnrq-2930863037@sale.craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]
1983 Team Fuji - chromoly quadbutted steel
58cm metallic brown (looks more eggplant to me)

Specs:
rear wheel Shimano Dura Ace/Mavic Open Pro
front wheel Formula/Mavic CXP22
Sugino Mighty cranks 53/46/34
IRD freewheel 13/16/20/24/28
Shimano 600 front derailleur
Suntour rear derailleur & downtube shifters (original)
Nitto stem / nice Sugino seatpost
Tektro R536 brakes & levers --new pads, cables, & original housing matches frame color
MKS sylan pedals w/ white Christophe toe clips (not in picture)
Selle Italia white Turbo saddle / white 700x23 Gran Compe tires (brand new/never ridden!)

I've had this bike about 2 years & rode it primarily as a commuter, with the occasional long distance tour. Within the first year I had it I upgraded the brakes/levers, saddle, tires, & bars. Last fall I decided to upgrade the wheels & had the rear wheel custom built with a NOS Dura Ace hub laced to an Open Pro. The IRD freewheel was also purchased new at that time. The front wheel was taken from a wheelset I'd purchased new at the same time. Since I've had these wheels the bike has never seen rain or foul weather, meaning these almost new wheels have never been exposed to damaging conditions. I built a winter bike last fall which I've been riding since so this bike hasn't even had much road time with these wheels yet. I have maintained this bike with great care since I've had it, keeping it clean, lubed, & tight. I also just put on brand new Gran Compe tires which haven't even touched road yet (the tires in the pic are fyxations which i'm keeping). The white color scheme I went with also tends to draw approving eyes. If desired I also have other saddles & tires to choose from if you don't like white or find the Turbo uncomfortable (I actually would like to keep it if possible). I truly love this bike & it's sad to see it go but I've decided to upgrade to a more suitable road bike as I've gotten more into long distance touring. Last week during one of those summer days I rode it from Lowell to Nahant & back, about 60 miles. This bike is solid & can fly! I've just become a more serious cycler & want to keep up with a more appropriate bike. I've seen the **** people sell on craiglist, this bike is well worth the price. It's suitable for someone 5'11-6'3 or so. Email any questions & feel free to request more detailed photos. I currently live in Lowell so it'd be easier if you came here, but I can meet in Boston if needed.

No, but I understand how it might look that way. This thread is strictly for pointing out good/interesting deals that other people are selling, whether it be on eBay, craiglist, or elsewhere. There is a separate subsection of this forum for sales, and it requires upgrading to a paid membership to start a thread there. It's a great deal, much less hassle than eBay, and you only pay once (annually.)

on the team fuji, I had to kinda smile when I read the implication that going 60 miles would call for a different sort of bike....I was expecting at least 3 digits!

I sort of understand what the guy means. I have a 1984 Fuji Team and frame geo is more for crits. Riding 60 miles would be uncomfortable and 100 miles unthinkable. Now, I have done 300 miles in three days on a 1986 Fuji Club but that bike is made for all day cruising.
