[h=2]Vintage Colnago Arabesque - $3200 (Hull, MA)[/h]

Date: 2012-07-11, 6:25PM EDT

Colnago Arabesque - all Campi Record - wedding present to me in 1988. Was new then - virtually unused since. rubber injections still on tread. One rim was replaced with an identical one 20 years ago when I got hard on it once and tweaked it, so it's still like new. The lower half of the front and rear forks are originally factory chromed, still are - sort of - because the chrome there is in rough shape and should maybe be re-chromed or stripped and painted to match rest of beautiful frame. There is a small scratch or two in the frame from being on a car carrier or such, but the paint is all original and virtually like new. This is a diamond in the rough - a real cream puff.
Feel free to contact me with questions or other offers considered. For pick up only and can be seen in Hull near intersection of Hingham Hull and Cohasset. Cash only.
Will miss the good times I had with her...

Alas, this beautiful '81 Cinelli is too small for me. Nicely equiped with a long-cage SR RD and modified triple SR cranks for us slow pokes with old knees.

Somebody buy these so I don't. I have way too many projects already.

Bicycles for sale - $75 (Albion)

https://jxn.craigslist.org/bik/3133831816.html

Two pretty good bikes for sale, a Fuji del Rey road bike and a Cannondale hybrid. The Fuji was bought new in the 1980s, and the Cannondale is 5-10 years old. They've both been hanging in the garage for a while, and will take some work to make them usable, but they are solid bikes. Pictures are included.

It kills me that they made 0 attempt to clean up that Colnago and want to charge 3200 for it.

Not too surprising given the owner had it for almost 15yrs and never(or almost never) rode it. Lack of motivation, lazy, etc. so why make an effort to sell it. Really though, $$$ and looks like it was at most dusted off.

[h=2]1982 Trek 715, Touring Road Bike 56cm - $400 (Chapel Hill )[/h]

Date: 2012-07-12, 4:20PM EDT
Reply to:

Selling my classic Trek road bike, which I am only the second owner of. The frame has a 56cm seat-tube with 57cm top-tube and is built with Reynolds 531 steel tubing. The bike is built with mostly Suntour Cyclone drivetrain components with a Campagnolo hub/Rigida rim wheelset - check out the part spec in the catalog referenced below. The original Avocet saddle was not with the bike, so I installed a Terry Fly Ti, titanium railed men's saddle(BROOKS saddle is not included). I have a frame pump and bottle cage that were purchased with the bike that I will include.

This bike is ready to ride and has recently received a full overhaul, including fresh grease for all bearings(bottom bracket, hubs, and headset). Wheels are true. Brand new parts include: handlebar tape, Forte Strada-K 700x28c tires, Cane Creek replacement brake lever hoods, Jagwire sealed brake/derailleur housing, Jagwire stainless steel brake/derailleur cables, and other misc. small parts.

1982 Trek Catalog from Vintage-Trek.com(see page 7 for the 715 model): https://www.vintage-trek.com/images/trek/Trek3.pdf

Colnago frame -- not my area of expertise, but looks like something one of you might be interested in.

Classic Italian Steel Ride!

Colnago Decor 60CM Road Frame

This is the same frame that
Tony Rominger rode to multiple
bridesmaid finishes in
the mid-90s Tour de France and was
a staple in the Euro peleton for
decades.

Read a review of the frame:
https://www.roadbikereview.com/cat/fr...3_2493crx.aspx

Frame is in good shape. No dents,
twists or bends. Some scratches in
the paint. Never crashed. Never raced.

60CM

This frame is the last of an era when
steel frames where hand-crafted art and
not technologically mass-produced drones.

There is a headset in the frame but
it's a cheap one I put there to keep the
fork in place. There is a trick titanium
bottom bracket but it needs new bearings.

The last time I had this bike built up I
rode it up Squaw Peak (Provo, UT) and remember
how amazingly it carved the switchbacks on the
plumeting descent.

Classic road geometry. Super comfortable.

Yours for $350. Pick it up in Provo or I'll ship anywhere in US for $50

I LOVE a good piece of fiction. It was a wedding present in 1988, "hasn't used it since", but some how managed to trash a rim 20 years ago. 2012-20=1992 not 1988.

Plus, a diamond in the rough would need a little work and elbow grease, especially for that kind of money. What did he leave it outside? The chrome looks like hell.

I agree!! I sold a great Bianchi a few weeks ago, the auction barely cleared $400 so I broke almost even but I lots $20 on packing and shipping, then after a 10% donation to a Military support charity I was in the hole on it.

I think it could go for more than $425 but not much. While we all know they are nice bikes and use a variety of tubes, the brand is not a huge marque like Colnago, Geurciotti, or De Rosa. It is also a rather big frame. Personally I would love to try one of these out, and one like this in the LA Sherrif/Cheverolet livery would be extra fabulous to get ahold of.
