are you referring to the fork on the blue Cilo in the CL ad, or the one on the blue Cilo in the photo i pulled from another recent thread here on BF (they are 2 different bikes, although they appear to be the same exact year/color/model?). the one in the CL ad does have the Cilo decal on the fork, but it's missing from the other bike in the BF photo. either way, i can't argue that the one in the CL ad is original based on just the photo, but it makes me think it could be because I've seen other Cilos with what appears to be the same chromed fork with the decal. but i could be wrong, too.

It's been about 6 years but, iirc, that is identical to the Cilo that I used to own (including the Aelle tubing and 600 components, and size).

FWIW, that remains one of my favorite bikes. The frame worked really well for me, and I felt that I could spin away all day on it... Unfortunately, it was a size too small for me.....

If I am not mistaken, the Trofeo has Formula 2 tubing which I think was Alle tubing. The Trofeo had a mix of parts as listed in the ad. I think it is a Trofeo but not SLX.

I have a 1991 Series 70 pdg. Great bike. I paid $250 on CL, which was a bit of a stretch, because it fit me perfectly. Here's a (mislabled) 1992. It's a great bike too. But $800? Dream on. Perhaps it would be worth $800 if it actually were titanium, as the seller claims. Let's hope some poor sucker doesn't buy that and purchase.

This has been sitting on the local Craigslist for a while, pretty sure the seller has dropped the price at least once.

54cm Hand-Built Italian Rossi Road Bike with all Campagnolo parts - $500 (Boulder/Gunbarrel) (link)

Vintage Italian (1980's?) Rossi (please note this is NOT Rossin. This is a hand built super rare Italian racing bike) with Campagnolo Super Record. $500 firm.

No idea what the tubing would be, but perhaps something nice to match the groupset.

Looks like an '87 which is specced with a Formula 1 frame but it wasn't SLX. It might be a SL/SP mix or even SL/SP and Alle the folks at Bianchi don't even remember for sure.

Thanks for your reply ... furthers my Italian bike edumacation.
But seriously, how can you tell it it was repainted?
Bike in AD:

Is this shade of blue too light compared to GIOS blue?

I agree with Retrofit. It does appear to be repainted. To my eyes, here are the two standout signs.

A. The paint looks too shiny. My Gios SR paint is a bit more dull. (I don't think you can quite match Gios blue. I believe the paint was banned for environmental reasons.)

B. Didn't Gios prime the frames in red? If so, then a bit of red should show in the chips. (Note the background frame in the first YellowJersey photo that you attached.)

I'm not going to say that it has been crashed, but I would be certainly look that frame over for any front-end damage. At $700, I wouldn't take the chance.

I agree, it looks repainted but there is a but, read on. Gios did prime with a dark red primer, this made the blue look deeper and richer, however it was the red primer that was banned not the blue paint, the red came from using red lead tetroxide(sp?) which was toxic so it was banned sometime in the 1990's. Which if you compare the earlier (before the ban of the red primer) the blue was darker than the newer ones after the ban.

So is the bike repainted or a new one made to look older?

I saw a similar ad on CL back in the spring I believe. I've offered to take the XO-3 if he he would sell individually. But I made the same offer before. Anyone out there interested in a Bridgestone 200 with non-original stem, bars, and brake levers? I'll split the deal with you.

I don't need another bike just now (never did, really), but if I did I might consider this. NFI. I was just perusing CL for the fun of it.

Depending on the level of SRAM and condition of everything I think there is money to be made in parting that out.

edit: then again the frame isn't worth as much as I thought. Definitely a good keeper price.

edit2: then again there is a lot of stuff to be sold on that and the price is negotiable. idk I think I would try but that's easy for me to say sitting here with no chance to buy it
