Maybe they're upset that someone bought something from them for less than market value and is now getting market value for it? Not saying that flipping is wrong, just I wonder if they got ticked because they sold something for less than market value (either because they didn't know or bought a good pitch) and feel like they're missing out on some profit.

That's exactly what I thought. Well, the only real problem I have with those flippers is that if I didn't have enough bikes already I might like to have one of those bikes, but the prices are already bumped up. Okay. Life goes on.

I think this is the third time i have posted this. This has been on Chicago CL for about a year. Started at $220 which I thought was a decent price. $140!!! Might just buy it for parts and put the frame on ebay.

Vintage Raleigh road bike, $50!

"A Katrina survivor this Raleigh (made in England w/ Reynold 531 tubing) is not restorable (some parts may be), it has some Campy super-record parts (high flange hubs, crank, shifters) but would require work. There is no guarantee any of this bike is salvageable. I'm asking this price but might take less, the owner asked me to find a good home for it. Please only serious bike collectors who would appreciate how cycling has evolved."

Uhhh....

This is a 1987 DeRosa Professional frameset built with Columbus tubing. The bike is built up with Campagnolo components. Everything is in good working condition, new cables and chain. 10 speed drivetrain, tires are in good condition. Wheels are in excellent condition. It's a great riding bike, I hate to sell it but I have too many bikes. Frame size is 60 cm.

Just goes to show that while some do ok with mixte bikes, they don't always get a premium. In my area they don't sell for much.

Note that it's being sold as a singlespeed now so the derailers probably won't come with it.

The AD that is.

74 Colin Laing 10 speed
[h=2]74 Colin Laing 10 speed - $750 (Hopkinton)[/h]

74 Colin Laing custom bicycle, seat tube 22", top tube 21", down tube 24", tight rear triangle.
Reynolds 531 throughout.
Built by renouned frame builder Colin Laing in England before his move to Arizona.
Mostly Campagnolo Record components incl crankset and chainrings, brakes, shifters, headset, seat post.
Campy super record pedals.
A set of my old training wheels are on the bike. Campy skewers (I believe). 10 speed setup.
TTT titanium bottom bracket axle

I built the bike in 1974 for mainly criterium races. Fork is angled more like a road bike, allowing use for longer roadraces and training. Tubular tires. I had other bikes for riding around town and training in the rain. Brakes are set up for a crit, so rear cluster can be shifted right hand and rear brake squeezed left hand. Rear brake under stays because....cool and lower moment when turning. Saved me 0.00000002 miliseconds in a 10 mile race!

Bike is ridable as it stands. I rode it maybe 10 miles last year with my son. Never crashed.

Son is looking for a used downhill bike. Would be willing to trade for a downhill bike or will be using the money to buy one used.

Feel free to ask for specific measurements or pictures or to come evaluate it. It has spent most of its life hanging in my basement.

1989 Trek 660 Steel road frame USA

Burlington, Vermont

I have a 1989 Trek 660 road frame. The frame and fork are USA made. Steel lugged frame. I bought this past fall to build up as a road bike but didn't get around to it. Looking to make some room in my garage.
TT 23.5"
BB to top of seat tube 25"
Downtube to bottom bracket 25.5"
I'm 6'1" and I think this frame would have been a perfect fit for me. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please come check it out in person. It has some wear but no major dents or scratches. Would make a great project bike $90 OBO
