About a five second internet search would reveal the winner of the 1977 TdF rode a Peugeot. And not with this set-up either.

Very nice vintage Raleigh Competition GS this is the same bike and setup that won the 1977 Tour de France. Made in England. Campagnolo drive train, Brooks leather saddle. Tires are old and need replacing. Overall very good condition-- a true collector bike. 57 cm.

Same seller, more nonsense.

Like new Vitus 979 road bike, very little use seriously like new condition. All Campagnolo except Cinelli stem and bars. Tires have been sitting too long so those are needed. A true collector bike, anodized not painted. Size 56cm. Campy hubs, drive train, seat post, brakes. Mavic wheels. These are selling for around 1200-1500 on ebay so price is firm.
Super Clean Vitus 979 road bike Vintage

err, no they're not. There's one example in that range on the bay, and it has c-record, not Athena. Insane price.

Raleigh International 1974
[h=2]Raleigh International 1974 - $650[/h]

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap

(google map) (yahoo map)

condition: good size / dimensions: 23

1974 Raleigh International in Champaign. Everyone who likes old steel wants to own an International just to find out why everyone raves about them. The bike has all Campagnolo drive train, headset and seatpost and original Weinmann brakes and levers with Carlton marked hoods, white Velox end plugs and Brooks Professional saddle. The chrome is perfect, the paint has the appearance you have to expect on a 40-year-old bike and that is reflected in the price. The frame is a 23" that Raleigh recommended for a rider 5'8" and over. It currently has period correct Weinmann clincher rims and tires but if you prefer the original sewups, you can have those instead. Either set of wheels would be mounted to Campagnolo Nuevo Record hubs and the sewups would have the original AVA rims. If you are not familiar with the bike it is Reynolds 531 butted frame forks and stays built at the Carlton Works in Worksop England who built all of Raleigh's racing and top of the line bikes during this period. The head tube and the fork crown have chromed Nervex lugs and the forks and stays have chromed socks as the chromed ends were called. For a lot of vintage bike lovers this is their grail bike because of the reputation for doing everything well and looking good in the process. This is what Sheldon Brown said about the International: Retro Raleighs: The International

$600 is a bit high. I sold this exact bike, components, color, everything in a 49 for ~$450 on the bay recently. Nice bike though.

Yup, $600 is far too high. Here is a nice looking one in Phoenix for $300 without a seat

[h=2]1993 Specialized "Rockhopper-EXPERT" - $130 (Appleton, WI)[/h]AMAZING! 1993 Specialized "Rockhopper-EXPERT"

"Up for sale is a size 19" frame, 24-speed, Specialized Rockhopper mountain bike. This bike is in IMMACULATE Condition!!!! It was built in the early 90's and is nearly indestructible. It has full lightweight alloy Suntour XC Expert components, Specialized wheels w/ XC Expert hubs and nice tires. Would be good for a medium/taller sized rider. I live in Appleton but work in Green Bay, so I would be able to bring it up there. Have any questions or would like to purchase, call Jay"

It may not be a Stumpjumper, but it's in good shape for the money and I really like that subtle fade paint job.

This isn't cheap, and it's not really on topic, but damn it's cool. I'd buy it in different circumstances. Happy to help if anyone else gets a rise from it like I do.

Lemond Road Bike in Great Condition (55" Frame)

size / dimensions: 55

This is a great bike to start with. You'll get a upper mid level classic bike for less then what you would pay for a beginner road bike at a bike shop. This is a 2005 Lemond Maillot Jaune (Yellow Jersey in French) 55" which can be is good for some between 5'9-5'11'ish depending on how you are built. This bike has been very well taken care of by the owner and bike shops. The bike weighs approx 17 1/2 pounds. The frame is a Guinness mix of steel frame spine to absorb the road conditions and a carbon fiber top to keep the bike light. I compare it to like riding in a cadillac compared to most aluminum frames. This bike has all the original Dura Ace components which were the top of the line at the time. This bike doesn't include the pedals but the seat can be included. Equipment highlights: Bontrager Race Lite wheels, Bontrager handle bar/seat post, Dura Ace brakes/shifters/front/rear derailer, Selle Italia seat ($200 seat).

I have for sale a 1988 Bridgestone RB-1 synergy road bike in excellent condition. The bike shows very little use for its vintage. Shimano 105 components, wolber wheel set, Sakae handlebars, great paint & decals, 59 cm. Rides and shifts like butter. This was the 1st year for the RB-1 and was designed by Grant Petersen. $350
