Got it for $85. LBS seemed to think it was a good deal and a good bike for the money albeit a little banged up here and there. What say ye folks over here on bikeforums?

I would say I am probably going to upgrade shifters. Theses are like friction shifters, kind of, according to LBS due to wear they don't click into place as easy, but manageable to ride as a bike to go around town. Enough babbling. Sorry.
what's wrong with that rear stay near the dropout? I would have never bought that bike if that is damage I'm looking at for any price except free then I would strip the parts of and take the bike to the recycler...IF that's damage I'm seeing.

Yea, someone laid it down somewhere. Meh, had it looked at doesn't compromise anything. No cracks, and not dented.

That's the funny thing about pictures, that pic makes it look like a hole which obviously would be an immediate recycle project.

[h=2]Looks like a very rare and beautiful bike. Too big for me though .
Italian road bike, 54cm, airbrushed columbus frame, dura ace

Italian road bike, 54cm, airbrushed columbus frame, dura ace - $785 (Logan Circle)[/h]

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap

(google map) (yahoo map)

condition: excellent size / dimensions: 54cm

Hearts in the lug work. Airbrushed, spiral-grooved main triangle. Full columbus steel frame with chrome accents. Basically, everything we love about Italian frames .

Dura Ace 9 speed downtube shifters with newish chain and cassette. Weinmann 700c hubs on gold rims and new-ish Michelin rubber. Headset is Shimano 105 and rear derailleur is Ultegra. I just installed a new Velo Orange Italian-threaded bottom bracket. This would fit someone up to 5"10 or so. I'm 6 feet and find it a bit too compact.

See pictures for the rest. It's a beautiful bicycle in person. Come check it out in Logan Circle on an afternoon or evening this week. Asking $785 and am open to offers, but nothing ridiculous please. If you see the ad, the bike is available.

condition: goodsize / dimensions: 61 cm/53/cm

Burley "Rumba" tandem from mid-90's. Good condition. Clean, lubed, well-adjusted.
Chrome Molybdenum makes bike frame more forgiving on your rear end. Stiff enough to make ride responsive, flexible enough to make it comfortable on long rides.

Keyword - ask. The Town and Countrys are actually pretty nice and probably worth it. Twinns, not so much.

How close are you to fitting this bike? I mean if you're one size smaller you may want to call the guy and find out what the standover height is, some manufacturers make their sizes different than standard size ratios, and that 54, granted it is a picture, appears to be a bit smaller like closer to a 52. If a 52 is your typical size it may be worth calling on to find out for sure if it won't-or will fit.

It is a great looking bike that's for sure.

I usually ride a 52 and that frame does look close to what I ride (an 83 Trek 500), but I am hesitant to put down that amount of money on something that isn't just right (not to mention the mishmash of parts). However, I will email and ask about standover. Thanks for the suggestion!

+1 If you like this one I would check it out in person looks to have 52cm cc and 54cm top tube so it may well likely fit. I love the original factory made paint on Titan's. The level of construction and paint on these Swiss made frames is just great about the best I have seen.
