I'd reply but I'm about an hour south of the cities and his no-hold policy doesn't make me eager to drive over for nothing. Plus, do I want to get kicked and elbowed by other Benjamin Franklin-wielding Bridgestone fans?
Bridgestone XO-2 Road Bike, Hybrid, Mountain,★ - $99 (Robbinsdale, MN)
?Bridgestone XO-2 Road Bike, Hybrid, Mountain,?
Nice condition Bridgestone XO-2, XO2 bike, Bicycle. Has CR-MO frame. As you know, these are "cult follower bikes". EXTREMELY nice road and commuter bikes that are set up with heavier forks for the occasional off-road use. But the frames are alloy, lightweight, strong and extremely versitile. Easily made into single-speeds or fixie style. This bike has Shimano shifters and quick-release wheels. Alloy rims are straight. Dia-Compe cantilever brakes, Avocet saddle. Super hard-to find "mustache style" handlebars!!! Shimano allow crankset, Sakae graphite strap type pedals. You know your sizes... not me. The tires are shot, original and decayed. I could put new ones on, but the value is in the frame and components. I can put tires on if you want, any color or style! I inherited it and am selling as it is. Its clean, but used. What you see is what you get. It is not ridable because the tires are shot. Come see it!!

That's the crux of the biscuit there. What makes something special? A racing pedigree? An early example of a prolific design? Custom build? Cost? Everyone has their own thing that they are into. The definition of classic is up to the individual as far as I'm concerned.

My sarcasm button must have failed. But I agree with you, it's $350 worth of parts (to me at least).
But just think, strip the parts, chop the drop bars into bullhorns, throw on an old brake lever with a matching front brake, a salvaged crank with one chainring, an old freewheel wheel set with fixed gear screwed on and you could claim to have the only Softride fixie on the planet! (I'd do it just so I could post it over in the SS/fixie forum).

1987 Cannondale ST400 Touring Bike + extras
[h=2]1987 Cannondale ST400 Touring Bike + extras - $325[/h]
© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap
(google map) (yahoo map)
condition: excellent size / dimensions: 21"/53cm
Hi, I'm selling this Cannondale touring bike with light use for it's age. It is in great shape and I just used it to ride from NYC to Boston. It includes everything you see in the pictures...fenders, racks and pump. It was a fun ride and this bike will treat you will on any long rides or as a commuter. Please note it was 27" wheels (I just bought brand new Serfas Secas ($28 x 2) and will include some spare tubes for you as well). The new tires are not pictured and were only used for the ride from NYC to Boston and for a bit of riding around town. This is a bicycle from the golden age when bicycles weren't mass produced and it has a lot more character and quality (although older tech) than anything you can buy for $600-$800 nowadays. If you have any questions please send me an email and I will answer right away. Please include your phone number if you are interested in the bike. I also invite you to compare my price to other folks selling this bicycle or something similar here on CL!

It's a great bike for what it was but I think $400 is a bit much especially considering a lot the original Campy components and other components are gone and cheap crap was put on. And I rode a slightly later model, either a 75 or 76 Paramount tandem many years ago and that thing was very flexy...but not as flexy as another brand we tried (can't recall the other brand name maybe Gitane sort of rings a bell); but later years Schwinn Tandems they increased the diameter size of the boom and the down tube which took out a lot of the flex.
Anyway with most of the original components gone I just think it's high priced but that's just me. Again to make it worth while a purchaser would have to research and find all the original components and restore it back to the way it left the factory to make it worth $400 or even more. I tend to undervalue some bikes though because mostly of personal experience with a lot of them, and flexy frames just don't do it for me. The frame may be worth $400 because it's a Paramount but I wouldn't personally buy it, if it was a later version with the larger diameter downtube and boom then I would.

I'm more bothered by turkey levers on a Cannondale
At that price, still a hell of a deal, even if you have to pay someone to re-route or replace brake levers.

This looks interesting but I think a bit pricey, especially not all original. $750 in Sacramento https://sacramento.craigslist.org/bik/4611518463.html

OK then, my computer did not even show this Bianchi, just your response to the Moto that was brought into question, I don't see the pic of the Bianchi on your post even now until I posted my response and then it only shows up on my response. And the post of which I am quoting does not show the last paragraph of your response in regards to the Bianchi.

The horrible blocking on the photo makes it hard to tell what is strait on the bike. In any case this would be a big value deduction if one is not buying in person.
