Lovely Miyata touring bike. 700c double wall wheels. nicely trued. tires in great shape. shifts and brakes well. rides smooth. needs nothing

It dos have one booger. One of the top tube cable guides split and needs a touch up. its functional and can be replaced with an old school chrome clamp on guide, left alone, or replaced with one of these:

NOVA CABLE STOP SINGLE - RIVET ON BLACK :: CABLE STOPS :: ALUMINUM SMALL PARTS :: BRAZON/SMALL PARTS :: Nova Cycles Supply Inc.

$500 picked up in Rhode Island.

We could meet at the commuter rail stop at TF Greene airport in Warwick

Can't speak for the seller of this Santana tandem but indeed is a fillet brazed w/ custom to spec Ishwata tubing. Amazing price considering the effort building these early frames. Some nice extras on it - Phil hubs, Mafac cant's. IMHO, looks pretty. However I do question the low cost on shipping. Perhaps could use a freight truck, bike on a pallet, standing up, wheels removed???

Santana Tandem Bike
Those Santana's are fantastic tandems, brand new they're $3,000.

The cost to ship is more than a normal bike because it ships in an oversize box, not sure what the cost is but I would estimate $150 to $200 range; but the boxes aren't cheap probably another $45 unless you can find a used one at an LBS that's because the size of the box wood reinforcement must be used but the biggest problem is finding one if an LBS doesn't have one then it's possible you may have to have it shipped to the bike! Then it's shipped freight truck by UPS not the little brown trucks.

I would ask the seller if he has a box for it already to go, hopefully he kept the original box it came in, if he did then he shouldn't charge you for the box.

That's a very nice bike, if my wife was more into cycling I would be jumping on it because it would fit both of us.

I looked into shipping a tandem a while back and it was a fortune! I feel very fortunate to have found the one I did (Thanks noglider!). Maybe try picking up a cheaper tandem - something like a shwinn Twinn (or a town and country if you get lucky). See if she likes it...if not, you can sell it and move on without a huge loss.

We actually rented a tandem once, I was doing all the pedaling, that doesn't become fun after about 45 minutes. She only has enough strength to last about 7 to 11 miles on a good day because she won't put out any effort to improve that, cycling just isn't her thing.

[h=2]1987 Cannondale ST600 Road Touring Bike w/ Shimano 600 SIS - Great Con - $450 (Somerville)[/h]

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap

46 Highland Ave
(google map) (yahoo map)

condition: excellent

This is a genuine 18-speed Cannondale ST600 Road Touring Bike w/ Shimano 600 SIS, manufactured in 1987. My father was the original owner and I've since inherrited it. Only reason I'm selling it is because I simply never use it. Since it was bought new in 1987, this bike has always been housed indoors. Absolutely no rust. Original paint in great condition (minor nicks here and there from usual wear, but mostly on the bottom of the frame).

The serial number on the frame is 21050587190, which, according to Vintage Cannondale - Information and Help indicates that the bike has a 21 inch frame, manufactured on May 5, 1987, and was #190 in sequence.

For framing reference, I'm 5'6 and my dad was 5'10. We both fit perfectly on this bike.

The chain has been regularly greased and in recent years the bike has had a few professional tunings. Also comes with newer tires with new tubes in both of the tires. Tires meaure 27"x1 1/4".

Specifications:
Rims: Sun Mistral M17L alloy 27"
Hubs: Shimano 600 36-h., sm
Spokes: 14 gauge stainless
Tires: Skinwall, 27 x 1-1/8", presta
FR. DER: Shimano Deore
RE. DER: Shimano Deore SIS index
Shifters: Shimano SIS
Crankset: Shimano FCB 124 Biopace 28/44/50
Pedals: Miche 1203 alloy
Freewheel: Shimano 13, 15, 18, 21, 25, 30
Brakes: Shimano 600, aero levers
Handlebar: TTT
Stem: Nitto Young
Headset: Shimano 600
Seatpost: Sugino SPH
Saddle: Vetta, anatomic leather
Fork: Tange Mangaloy, low rider brace-ones
Color: Slate
Size: 21"
Weight: 23.5 lbs

In addition to the bike itself, I'm including a ton of extras, including:

Rear carrier rack with New TransIt bag
Cateye Velo 5 computer (already installed)
Brand new Planet Bike LED headline and rear brake light with multiple settings (out of packaging but only used twice)
New Forte bycicle seat
Kickstand (mounted)
Two waterbottle holders (mounted)
Buffo U-lock with a set of two keys
Spare tube and tube changing tools

Please feel free to send questions or email me if interested. Asking $450 OBO

Based on the mish-mash collection of parts, and the fact that Aircaddy didn't exist 15 years ago, there is something fishy going on here...

size / dimensions: 57 cm

Bought this bike in 1980's but only road it for few months, then was stored on bike hanger for many years until I stored it in a shipping box (aircaddy.com) for the last 15 years. I just unpacked the bike in June 2014 and spent $480 at local bike shop to do a full bike tune, grease all parts, new cables, new rims and tires. Some of the parts were replaced, so the bike does not have all the original parts. Based on the serial number, the bike was manufactured in Worksop (Carlton) in Auguest 1982, this bike was numbered 469. The bike do have some rust on head sets, chain and some scratches on the frame (see pictures). Will also include a new RAD Cycle Products Pro Bicycle Adjustable Repair Stand (Bought in June 2014)

Early or mid-80's Peugeot made with Vitus 980 double butted, hand brazed as it says on the top tube. Has tubular rims with sew ups that are holding air, but not glued on. Stronglight crank ("Drillium" rings), can't say all the parts are original, some Suntour, some stamped "P"...front rim is an aero shape, small profile, rear is conventional. Headset, wheel bearings, BB all seem fine, no friction, wheels spin fairly true, I'm assuming all bearings need fresh grease overhaul.
Paint has lots of scuffs, some scrapes, don't think the seat is OEM, not sure, has an older Vetta computer on the front wheel only, needs a new battery. No dings or dents in the frame.
Nice old steel alloy frame, lugs are nicely thin, pretty light bike overall, be a good daily rider, good conversion to single.
I'm going to call this "good" condition due to the scuffs on the paint, mechanically it would be at least at good if not higher. It can be ridden now, but again I'd overhaul the bearings and swap the wheels for clinchers unless you like sewups.

Rivendell Road Standard Frameset

Hello, up for grabs is this rare opportunity to own a classic Rivendell road frameset, unlike anything they make today. This frame has a low BB, stage race geometry, accepts 'short reach' road caliper brakes and has clearance for 700 x 28 tires. The frameset includes fender eyelets and 'hidden' seat stay rack eyelets. Waterford built around 1995 and refinished beautifully by Tom Kellogg of Spectrum Cycles some years ago with stunning Silver paint and Dark Blue head tube accent.

The intricate lugged steel construction is made up of Reynolds 753 main tubes, Reynolds 531 fork blades, Everest BB shell, and Shimano horizontal dropouts.

Includes a smooth and mint Campagnolo Record 1" threaded headset.

There is a small ding in head tube (see last picture). Otherwise, excellent used shape with hardly a scuff. The ding does not affect the integrity of the frame and I have ridden it for years without issue.

Geometry:

- 56 cm center-center seat tube, 57.5 cm center-top seat tube
- 57.5 center-center top tube
- 42.5 cm center-center chainstay
- 14.8 cm head tube end-end including the extension but not including the headset stack and generous spacer.
- 81 cm standover
- 100.5 cm wheelbase from front hub to dropout center

This frame will fit a rough 5'9" to 5'11" range rider depending on preferences. My opinion is Rivendells are supposed to fit 'big' which means ride a size or two up from a normal off-the-shelf road bike, for minimal post exposure and higher handlebars. The slack seat tube angle and low BB make the bike not feel as large as the numbers may dictate.

Frame specifics: English threaded BB, 27.2 post required, 28.6 mm clamp on front derailleur required, 1" threaded fork/headtube, 130 mm rear end spacing

Thanks for looking!
