Gorgeous vintage Trek for sale. Built in 1978, this TX500 is from the third year the company was in business and shows how nice the old steel Treks really were. Frame is a 56cm.

Built with Ishiwata 022 tubing, which is said to easily rival Reynolds and Colombus in ride quality, weight, and durability. Suntour GS dropouts in the rear.

The bike is in fantastic shape, especially for its age. The tires were just put on yesterday and the bike rides beautifully. And comes with a Swiss made Pletscher rear rack. The bike is too small for me so I'd love for it to end up in the care of someone who knows how special these rides are.

- Suntour Vx-GT long cage rear derailleur
- Suntour Seven front derailluer
- Suntour Power downtube shifters(best pre-index shifters)
- Zeus brake levers with top mounted barrel adjuster and original hoods

Vintage 1982 Schwinn Super Sport 15 speed road bike. This is not a very common bike and is high up on the Schwinn quality teir. This bike appears to be 100% original and comes with original equipment racks front and rear. This bicycle has 700 series Ukai polished aluminum wheels with the original Schwinn tires. The wheels have quick release hubs front and rear. The original tires hold air, but will need replacement sooner or later. The bike also needs new handlebar tape or foam grips (foam is the original grip material). The bike features quality Champion tubing, rear axle adjustment screws, and a frame mounted rear derailleur lug. The bike rides nice and is a solid vintage road bike. This is a tall frame bike with a stand-over height just over 35". The link below is to the 1982 Schwinn Super Sport catalog page listing info and photo of this bicycle. You're finding some good deals on that end of the state, Randy. Seems like in the KC area everyone thinks their turkey lever stem-shifting hi-ten Schwinn is worth $500 because it's old.

Also I have a theory that there was a race of bike riding giants who used to inhabit this area in the 70s because there's a metric ton of 60 cm and bigger bikes constantly for sale around here.

For sale is a late 1970's Trek model 412, 12-speed bicycle with a 22 ½" frame. The tubing is Ishiwata double butted, handcrafted. All the parts appear to be original (even the Avocet saddle), and the bike has had relatively little wear.

The average STL craigslist road bike seems to be around 19-21" or 54cm. There are very few bikes larger than 58cm.
