Lapierre vintage French road racer
What's your guys opinion on this one? I think I'd offer 150 and see where it went.
Last one for the day. Still looking around my area, but seems everyone asks too much or just is trying to flip crap.

Classic De Rosa racing bike
"De Rosa frame - 51 mm seat tube; 52 mm top tube.....
with some Campy parts.....
Camp cranks 170.0 mm..... no pedals although I have a new pair of Speed Play pedals I can add...
Campy front and rear derailleurs.....
Campy front and rear brake calipers with Shimano brake levers.....
Campy hubs with sew up rims, front - 0 cross 28 flat blade stainless steel spokes; rear - 4 cross 32 flat blade stainless steel spokes.....
Vittoria PRO L Slick 19 mm tires like new.....
Campy old style friction down tube shifters.....
Needs only shifter cables, a chain, chain rings ( I have a used pair of Campy chain rings but they are slighty worn), and handlebar tape.....
This bike's value to me is somewhere between $300-$500. I am willing to trade for a PC or Apple computer or laptop, or road or mountain bike of same approximate value... or make me an offer I cannot refuse. "

There's a project one that still has frame stickers for sale in MTB marketplace for a $100 OBO. Rust should clean up easy, seatpost may or may not be stuck, etc.

wow! Even in that condition, the BF offering looks to be a great buy. Might be a territory thing but I know a few fellows that grew up riding in the early BMX days willing to pay upwards. Nowadays they gravitate to vintage BMX collecting plus ride popular named BMX brand name vintage ATB. Mongoose is one of them.
One I know of just acquired a NEW retroish BMX Haro 29er freestyle w/ rigid fork. Apparently he grew up riding Haro and so he went nutz for some limited edition. Doesn't do much for me but I think they now sell well over MSRP to collectors.

1998 bianchi veloce racing bike 55cm
1998 bianchi veloce racing bike 55cm - $350 (petworth, dc)
I am selling a 1998 55cm bianchi veloce racing bike in celeste green. It has some heavy wear and tear on it but is still fully rideable.
Specs here: 1998 Bianchi Veloce - BikePedia
The seat is scuffed up at a few points, the frame has multiple scratches and a few pressure cracks on the downtube.
It has all original Campagnolo parts. I am the second owner, I've had the bike for 6 years.
It is an absolutely gorgeous pearly celeste green with matching handlebar tape and tires. Come check it out or make an offer.
It needs some TLC and I haven't rode a geared bike in a very long time. It's collecting dust at this point.
Cheers

VINTAGE 1960 GEORGE STRATTON 23" TANDEM MADE in ENGLAND RANDONNEUR - $1400
VINTAGE 1960 GEORGE STRATTON 23" TANDEM MADE in ENGLAND RANDONNEUR
his bike needs a new owner...
LONG STORY, pop a top and read on...
THE FRAME BUILDER: George W. Stratton was frame-builder Claude Butlers shop foreman until 1955 when he bought the shop, and owned it into the 1980's, Stratton Cycles is still in business as a bike store in London, you can google them...
THE OWNERS:
this is a VERY NICE 1960/61George W. Stratton tandem, MADE in ENGLAND, 23" parallel in original ivory paint with red and blue pinstripes, that had ONLY 3 owners...I have been acquainted with this bike since 1971 when I met the second owner (he is still with us)...I personally rode on this bike in 1971-72...
the original owner of the tandem was the president of the Phoenix Wheelman in the 60's and he sold it to the lifetime cyclist second owner in 1965, in 1995 the second owner traded it for a serious painting from the third and final owner...
this bike was ridden/owned from 1995(maybe not ridden much), by a gentleman into his 80's, he was a founding father of the marin cyclists around 1963...I met the third owner gentleman cyclist in 1970 as a pup, he went on to buy/trade for another 5 bicycles...
THE BIKE:
the wheels are round and pretty true, I had them in the stand for a few minutes to touch them up...the ivory frame paint is in very nice shape for 50+ years, it is "as is" from the owners family (read below), with just a minor dusting off for the glamour shots you are looking at...I will add more information as I notice, if I forgot something, or you remind me by asking any questions...I can take more pictures, no problem, used all 12 spaces offered by ebay...
many of the parts are original, and some were "modified" by some great cycling minds in Phoenix around 1970...obviously some parts were replaced thru the years, and the long arm touring 1970 custom Campy/Simplex rear and Huret derailleurs were modified, hopefully shown in the pictures...
note the matching paint rear rack...
ALSO: the second owner kept "service records" on ALL his bikes and his bikes were/are immaculate...I sold a pristine blue/chrome 1966 Cinelli for the second owner about 8 years ago, and the JRJ touring rig that sold a month ago was also owned originally by our second owner of the tandem...
FRAME - 23" BB center to top on the top tube front, 23 1/4" BB center to top tube rear
47" center to center on the top tube, head tube to rear seat tube
64" wheel base
reynolds 531 tubing
PARTS GROUP:
derailleurs, Spence Wolfe Cupertino bike shop modified rear 1970 Campy nuovo record w/simplex arm and Huret modified front
campagnolo upper steel headset, looks to be 80's Record C
bottom bracket cups ?
Zues 170mm front crankset, T/A 175mm rear crankset
T/A chainrings 56.50.32, old school, in nice condition
campagnolo QR hubs high-flange 32H front, 40H rear, w/early flat QR levers and 14g spokes w/washers @ hubs
schrader valve rims 27 inch, no clue yet, I was thinking these are nisi, no markings, could be fiamme, ambrosio or others, not sure on the rims, can send close-ups and always interested in your opinion
continental super sport 28-630 (27 x 1 1/8) tires in nice condition, they may be rideable
self-energizing Suntour Pedersen design rear cantilever brakes, scott fronts
mafac front brake levers and unknown hoods, dia-compe rear stoker tandem levers
Titan stem 10 cm front, Pivo 7 cm rear
unknown front handlebar 47 cm (center to center), 49 cm rear
Simplex downtube shifter, circa 1970?
5 speed cluster 13-32 unknown
chains, unknown
ideale duralumin front saddle, the leather is in very nice condition for its age, supple and without cracks, rear saddle is an ideale 80 that I put on instead of some aweful specialized MTB crappy saddle that was on the bike, the back of the "80" has roughness in the leather at the edge (?)
26.8 campagnolo dual cradle seat post on the rear, old school tapered post on the front
steel campagnolo pump peg on middle tube
T/A water bottle cage with clamp-on straps
unknown rear rack in ivory paint, some missing
campagnolo drop-outs with the rear adjuster screws
I think I have not left anything out, let me know if I have...
I am selling for the children...
PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS...
local pick-up only, this bicycle has lived its entire life in the bay area or Phoenix, AZ...
