Any petite riders in San Diego looking for a really great bike? I so badly wanted to be able to fit on this Serotta Colorado III, but it's just too small for me (I'm a 5'8" near-Clyde). A classic steel handbuilt with a modern Carbon fork and a modern high quality drivetrain, at a screaming bargain price. Rider should be 5'2 to 5'5" tops.

Serotta Colorado III Road Bike

Not anything special, but it's a relatively cheap Bottecchia!

Vintage 1970s Bottecchia road bike. 58cm steel frame. Orange in color. Some surface rust here and there on the frame. Everything works perfectly fine. Total of 10 speeds. Suntour Shifters. Shimano 600 rear derailleur. Weinmann Brake levers. All other components unknown to me.

Slightly off topic, but can anyone identify the rear rack on this bike, AND does anyone have one for sale?

Thanks, Dick

Hi all - I dropped in to meet him this afternoon in regards to the 54 cm Colnago he mentions in the ad. At that point in the day (3:30 pm) the 57 cm Colnago, the Merckx, and the 57 cm Masi had been traded for the Paramount he was interested in finding. Didn't see the Litespeed he had mentioned in the ad in his storage space. Perhaps gone as well. I'm hoping for the sake of the guy who traded him the Paramount that the 3 bikes he or she got in return were in better shape than the Colnago I looked at. How do you say no to a $350 Colnago, you might ask? It was WAY rougher than his photos suggested; the kind of "patina" that years of hard riding and uncovered outside storage provides. It needed a full repaint, and that was just more of a project than I was interested in undertaking.

Thanks for the update. Glad to know they are more or less gone so I can stop obsessing about driving to Stockton to pick up a few bikes.

Don't waste your time on this one, I went and checked it out. The frame is toast, completely corroded seat tube, down tube and bottom bracket. Indoor trainer victim. Components are in fair condition. Really only salvageable for a few parts and the fork. Also, the seller is a strange guy - nice - but strange. Good luck.

Uggh. Reminds of the time I woke up on Saturday, looked at the local CL and there was a Coors Serotta with Dura Ace for $100. I think it was missing the handlebars or something weird like that. The lady finally replied that I missed it by about 10 min.

Just curious, what do you define as being "completly corroded." Had rust eaten through and made some holes?

Cheap Pegoretti in Oakland, $1900

Pegoretti - Polasanto - Complete Road Bicycle

Lots of potential here, the frame and fork is $300

Tommasini Trio frame 53 cm

My favourite colour combination for a Merckx, this one is $1000 in Bend, OR but it has been listed for awhile, perhaps there is some wiggle room on price

I'm not kidding when I say it might be because the names don't end in vowels.

That wouldn't keep me from buying it if I lived in that area, though Ignaz Schwinn didn't have that issue for a long time.
