I don't know my Giants. But this has dual eyelets on the rear and a pump peg and fork blade rack mounts, and decent looking components. It might have been something good once, a nice hybrid. Maybe it could be again.

Miyata Triple Crank Pure Touring Bike

[h=2]Miyata Triple Crank Pure Touring Bike - $240 (NOVA)[/h]

Made in Japan. Incredibey rarity. Full canti-lever brakes. Bike can be loaded to go cross country if you do choose. They made very few of these. It's a needle in haystack find.

Lot of weird things about this bike. Italian racing frame with Japanese touring components. 58 st x 52 tt? And is that a JP Weigle repaint?

I'm guessing the frame measurements are off, more likely a 56cm tt. Definitely a frankenbike, though I can understand the touring setup in this area. And it does appear to be a repaint by Weigle's former wife.

A bit of exaggeration on the rarity...but...a good price

A Trek 712 which I think is WAY overpriced especially since the original transmission is gone and who knows what else is not original, heck even if it had the original components I would still think this bike is priced way too high, but again that's just my opinion.

That's been on Craigslist a long time, and he has not dropped the price at all. Probably the wife's idea to sell and he's telling her that he's trying.

Cannondale Touring Bike

Vintage Cannondale ST-1000 in great condition. Just had it serviced by REI. Added a new pump, saddlebag, and handle bar tape. It rides very smooth, shifting is smooth and had the wheels trued. Fenders and rack too. I am about 6ft tall so the bike's measurement is perfect.

C.H. notes: A rider about 6ft tall is too big for this bike.. about 5'7" to 5'9" I'd guess to be more like it.

The price on this bike has steadily come down to the point now where I think this is a certifiable steal. Am I missing something?

Gios Torino Super Record Early 70s

Gios Torino Super Record Early 70s - $599 (bridgewater)

Specs:
GIOS TORINO, (frame and components hand made in Italy).
early 1970's racing bike with modern 700C standard size alloy clincher rims
Steel Road Bike (Hand-Lugged frame)
Columbus SL Steel Tubing (Handmade in Italy)
Measurement approx. 56.0 cm C-C Seat Tube
Measurement approx. 55.5 cm C-C Top tube
27.2mm Campagnolo Record seatpost (Handmande in Italy)
5-speed rear Freewheel
126mm rear spacing
Campagnolo Nuovo Record Crankset (Handmande in Italy)
170mm crank arm (Handmande in Italy)
52-45t Campagnolo Record chainrings (Handmande in Italy)
Campagnolo Record Pedals (Handmande in Italy, completely rebuildable)
Campagnolo Nuovo Record Derailleurs (Handmande in Italy)
Campagnolo Gran Sport Headset (Handmande in Italy)
Campagnolo Downtube Friction Shifters (Handmande in Italy)
Universal Mod. 51 Brakes
Universal Mod. 61 Brake Levers
Modern Clincher 700c Alloy SunRace/Sturmey-Archer Rims/Hubs
110mm 3ttt Mod. 1 Record Strada 1st model stem with "C. Gios" engraved on the side
Fork is the original, with ingrained GT on the fork crowns.
The derailleurs move under finger pressure, but the cables need replacing, and the derailleurs should be serviced with oil and grease.
Selle Flite seat with Manganese rails.

This bike has modern tires and new tubes. There's rust that has entered under the paint around the bottom bracket, and there is some minor rust above it on the seat tube near the chainring. There is some surface rust on the fork, but the fork turns easily and is not kinked or bent.

For another $75, we will throw in the original Campagnolo Super Record tubular wheelset (no tires). The hubs spin smoothly, but could use a rebuild/re-greasing with fresh grade 25 ball bearings.

The bike seems pretty rideable as-is, but it is the shop's recommendation that (in order to truly appreciate and ensure this bike will last the test of time) the new owner rebuilds the bottom bracket, gets the rust cleaned off and detailed professionally, replace the cables, swap out the brake pads and re-grease steering race, and oil the derailleurs.

These bikes never sell on eBay (not just are listed for, but actually sell for) for less than $1,000- we couldn't find a single one listed for less- and we even found several listed for around $2,000.

We're Big Dan's Bicycle Shop, a program run by Middle Earth, a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that helps at-risk youths by helping them learn job skills after school. Our workshop is designed to teach children how to work on bicycles as well as how to repair them, and our volunteers helped with this bike's repair. With your purchase will be an e-receipt and a thank you letter for your purchase.

It's not ebay, it's craigslist...and there are a limited number of people on Craigslist looking to spend over $400. Gran sport headset, mis-identified seatpost (which they didn't wipe off) and goofy wheels unless you spend more money. Its not rideable if you read the ad, and I wouldn't trust a co-op not to have really boned something.

I can't speak for others, but that "it's worth xxx on eBay" crap turns me off. I know what it is, I know - roughly - what it's worth and their valuation is optimistic. The price isn't awful for someone who wants one - it's fair - but it's not great either. It's not a must have deal at any rate.

'89 Cinelli- Incredibly rare, NOS frame, AMAZING!!!

Pricey and Japanese parts on an Italian frame, but it sure is pretty.

[h=2]'89 Cinelli- Incredibly rare, NOS frame, AMAZING!!! - $850 (Springfield)[/h]

'89 Cinelli 'Mens Sana In Corpore Sano' ("a healthy mind from a healthy body"), hand-built in Italy with legendary Columbus tubing, lots of Cinelli logo pantographs, original paint and decals. Bought this as a NOS frame and built it up with quality components. Has a 57cm seat tube, so the right size for a male or female rider 5' 9" to 6' 1" tall.

All matching Shimano 600 components, 16 speeds in all (2 up front and 8 in the back), excellent clincher rims with new tires & tubes, new cables & housing, new headset & bar tape, Cinelli handlebars & stem. Check out the pictures to confirm the outstanding condition.

This is a truly special bike- you'll probably never see another one of these in person! Price of $850 is firm and fair and much less than the cost of parts used. This is a lot more bike than you'd get for the same price elsewhere.
