Minty Schwinn Prologue - Was an indoor trainer - $425 (Montecito, CA)

"This Schwinn Prologue has been on an in house exercise machine it's whole life. Never ridden on a road or track. Has Shimano parts. Crank length is 172.5 and frame is 58cm. Matrix front rim and back rim is Mavic G4( 7 gear) and the tires are old, flat and I believe tubeless. There are no brakes on the frame. Other than the tires and no brakes, this bike is in excellent condition. $425 obo."

Is this bundle of components + wheels worth pursuing? I'd probably end up using some of the groupset and then eBaying the rest out.

Campy Chorus Parts - $300

Campagnolo Chorus bike parts
I took apart my old road bike and these are the parts left over
Brake calipers
Front and Rear Derailleurs
Crank set
Mavic Open Pro wheels
Campy Records Titanium brake and shift levers

Your internet opinion is requested.

Pretty close to FMV. There's not a lot of meat on a flip there. Check finished ebay sales, and do the math if you want the correct answer.

This looks like a good deal. The wheels should fetch $75-$100 and same for the brifters. That leaves $100-$150 in value for brakes, derailleurs and cranks.

Yeah, so if I was taking a few bits and flipping the rest, I'd essentially want whatever I'm taking for free. Being up $50, while better than nothing, is too close. I'd want to be able to make at least $100 and probably more.

YMMV ... etc.

Not so sure of the price, but I like this one. An underdog Sears, 70's pea green plus gold painted spokes. LOL
Go back a few years and you'll see some Campagnolo equipped. Might have to search the Sears catalog archives but in the late 1950's, they noted lightweights imported from France, Austria and England.

This one seems like a bit of all right, with Cyclone rr der and bar-end shifters, esp for $135. Listed as 54cm.

I heard that currently, Ted Williams bikes have the head(set) removed and put in cold storage.

Somebody from Baltimore or DC should go check out this CL ad for a "Colnago master mountain bike." Definitely not a mountain bike, but you will need to budget for replacing the bars and stem!

There was an instance for sale on Chicago CL for quite awhile. I think the seller was asking $350-$400 for it.

The narrative is more than stupid, the bike is probably stolen. Alert the authorities?

Those really odd handlebars made me think its probably not stolen, because putting those bars on a Colnago is just as weird as the narrative. But you're right of course that the ad is really fishy, so maybe its best to avoid contacting this seller.

Not that weird. Scott Drop-ins were pretty common in the early 90s. Lemond and Lance both used them.

Un-helpful pics, but this might be something nice.

Handbuilt Steve Rogers bike for sale
[h=2]Handbuilt Steve Rogers bike for sale - $275 (Connecticut)[/h]

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap

(google map)

condition: good
make / manufacturer: Steve Rogers
model name / number: custom made
size / dimensions: 57cm

Very nice custom bike built by Steve Rogers in the 1970's. Reynolds 531 frame and chrome Tange fork. I believe this is a size 57 cm frame. No dents, but a few scratches in paint, nothing serious. The bike has been completely gone through and is ready to ride. New parts include tires, bottom bracket, chain, cables, housing and headset (Shimano 600). Drivetrain is an Sugino triple crank and a 5 speed freewheel. Shimano derailleurs and downtube shifters. This is a very nice, lightweight bike with racing geometry. Located in Plainfield CT

Not sure if this should go here or in the wacky ebay/CL thread as I've never seen these on the market before, but 1k for wheels. I'd rather have a full bike.

Looks pretty nice. 531, 105 components, frame looks to be in good condition. Too small for me.

^That's looking pretty high end for a Grand Prix; I never knew that that model eventually made it up to 531 tubing and a 105 drivetrain. The late 1980s was a golden age, as my own collection bears out.
