mid-80s peugeot fork rake?

I'm trying to replace the bent (and repaired, now starting to bend again) front fork on my '85 or '86 peugeot ph-501. I found a 27'', 1'' British threaded fork, with a 55mm rake. Does anybody know what the average rake on the original fork would be, approximately? I'm trying to keep the same handling. Thanks for any help.

You need a 700c fork and the rake is 40mm.
