Dura Ace AX owners, what bike is it on?

I'm having a hard time deciding what frame to put my AX parts on, what bikes do you guys have your AX on?

I think my ideal frame would be a panasonic aero, but I'd really like to get this bike built, would it be total blasphemy to put the group on something like this?

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...#ht_500wt_1182

I really like that frame, and its just my size and in my price range... pretty tempting. But should I hold out for the panasonic aero?

Put it on whatever youlike.

I had it on a Cinelli SC for 20 years:

As cool as those brake look, they remind me of cleft pallete.

I just took the C-Record Delta brakes off my '84 Masi Gran Criterium last night and loosely mounted my sweet D/A AX brakes. (They looked brand-spanking new once I q-tipped the dirt and tubular tire glue off them.)
Haha, and like OFG up there, I've also got D/A 7400 downtube shifters on it. Might clash with my C-record cranks, but FTW. Screw what is 'correct' or impresses other people, your bicycle should make you happy.

I think they would look pretty nice on a brightly colored zunow frame. Still I would get one that you like for now, then if the Panasonic pops up do the old switcheroo.

Agreed. I think I'm falling into that trap where the further I get into a project, the more obsessed and nitpicky I get. When I started, I was just aiming for a frame from the same decade!

If you make it too pretty, you'll never want to ride it. After adorning my darling with C-record jewels (and the NOS Campy alloy freewheel (which appears to be made of gummy bear material)), I actually got my boss' permission to hang it on the wall of my office at work. She's not normally the type to go along with man-cave decor, but it was just that pretty.
That's when it hit me: I want to ride this thing, not just look at it!

Post pics when you're done!

I have a '81 Lotus Super Pro (nearly if not identical to the Araya Aero) with complete AX group (original). Was a curb find but absolutley gorgeous gold original paint. Owner threw it out because the rear rim got a crimp in it!
Before I cleaned it up:

Sorry if my Masi pics are getting tiresome, but I like the AX brakes much better than C-record Deltas:

I have a weird set of 600 AX hubs that I'm unsure what to do with.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/1413900...7619087140717/

"Weird" because some how, someone retrofitted a hyperglide freehub body on there. I was hoping to replace with an 8 speed (7400?) body, but that wasn't feasible.

Apologies for sort of hijacking this thread, but If anyone wants to trade/buy please PM me.

I saw a 1986 Cilo with DA Ax on it. It won't fit your Ti bike?

I made this thread 3 months ago, before I settled on the Guerciotti, which, by the way, is a seatpost, rear tire, cables/chain/bar tape away from completion!

I just set up the AX brakes yesterday, it was interesting, just like setting up cantilever brakes.

Oh by the way, I bought that De Rosa. The frame is almost cleaned up enough for ebay, and the Ti bike got ultegra derailleurs, dura ace crankset and brakes, and mavic cxp23s laced to ultegra hubs.
