I don't but a friend of mine has a really sweet boxed set of Campy tools, if I get to see him this weekend I'll take a few pic.

Cheers,

I have one. Makes complete build-ups a pleasure.

I have been on the look out for the Shimano derailleur tab alignment tool. It was presented with the new SIS system. Makes alignment of the tab very accurate. The funny part is that it is designed to work with a Campagnolo Record rear hub to complete the tool. A the time the Shimano rep. admitted that most pro shops would have a set of Campagnolo hubs around.

There was one at a LBS that quit business recently that went for a bit over $1200. It was a silent auction and I was going to bid but then I saw the high bidder was a (former?) young employee of the shop. Since I would probably have just flipped it on ebay I let him have it.

We had one of those in the shop I worked at....it was OK. I have Parks alignment tool.

Same here but I'm too dam cheap/conservative frugal whatever you want to call it. Besides, aside from the cutters, I have all of those tools and then some. (the only Campy tool I own is the wheel dish gauge)

I will have to look at the Park version.

There are plenty of tools out there that will do the same tasks. Its just that the Campagnolo tools pioneered some the special tools, and they are so elegant to use.

Everyone I know opens the box and just smiles. Park or VAR tools just don't provide the same effect.

Exactly!!! Thats why I want the Campy set, its hard to explain but its just different when I finish dishing up a wheel with the Campy tool.

I just lost and ebay auction for a set of Campy fork end/dropout tools. The Campys dont work with frames >126mm (unless you add washers) and I have the Park tool but the Campy's just......nicer.

I have occasional access to a boxed set. Last time I used something in it was to remove a 5 speed Campy freewheel from a tubular wheel. Still on the lookout for a proper bike to use those wheels on.

That sparks a question, when did Campagnolo stop offering the complete tool kit?

Yes they still make special service tools, and they made some inserts to fit the freewheel, Corsa Record dust cap removers. But the "historic kit" dropped off the catalog when?

A 5 speed Campagnolo freewheel? Now that is rare. I have seen quite a few 6 and 7 speed Campagnolo alloy freewheels but never a 5 speed. Are you sure that you didn't remove a Regina or Everest freewheel with a Campagnolo tool?
