Couple of flea market pickups, WTH are they? (pic heavy)
picked up these 2 bikes at the flea market:
first one got it for $35 bucks and bought it because of the front and rear campy derailleurs, no name lugged frame with champion tubing, interesting cranks, shimano 600 headset, rear mavic wheel laced to an english threaded campy hub.
Second bike is a 49cm pink "hunter" with complete shimano group and tange 900 frame. picked this one for $40 bucks

All I can tell you is that Hunter bicycles never made a Corsa model, at least to the best of my knowledge. May a bike shop brand? It's a least a decently equipped machine. The first one may be a real find though.

The first one looks like any one of many UJBs (ubiquitous Japanese bicycle) with a mix of parts including a Viscount crankset slapped on there. It's a nice example w/ solid tubing and decent lugwork. BF-er T-Mar is a whiz at deciphering serial #s on Japanese bikes if you can list that.

They both look like high end bikes. Since you posted excellent pictures of the gold bike, I can say that with assurance about that one. Can we see more pictures of the pink one?

The original "Reg Harris" Lamberts were lugged, then the Trusty-built ones were lugless, and after Yamaha bought them and moved production to Asia they were lugged again.

If you would want to sell the hunter whole bike or just frame PM me. My girlfriend wants a pink bike and that would fit the bill. one person says they were low end and department store bikes, but looks to me more like a budget bike shop bike. Can't say much about the other, but with campy part and Gipiemme drop outs it may or may not be a "UJB" the tange tubing would point to it being so, but the others things would point a little away to me anyway.

+1 Pink bike is a real nice probably Japanese bike private labeled for a bike shop. Will clean up very nicely. And smaller sizes like that have a strong demand around here.

If someone told me they had a bike, with a Tange 900 double butted steel frame, brazed on downtube index shifters, Shimano 105 group throughout, I'd say they bought a solid, mid-level bike from around 1987-1988.
If Hunter was a low end brand, maybe they dabbled in a better quality bike just like Ross did around 1984-85.

First one I,m thinking looks like a "Nishiki" but the "Gipiemme" drops put paid to that idea, rear DR looks like a "Gran Sport"has been filed flat and had "Drillium" applied, 2nd one (and I,m going out on a limb here) Miyata ,poss a 110 but dont quote me on it, 75 bux for both + scoreeeeeeeee !!!

Lambert made the Viscounts, which were marketed in the US as Viscounts. So yes, it's a Lambert crank, and it's also a Viscount crank, and it looks like a TA crank, but it's not.
The bike does have a mish-mosh of components, but that's OK by me. It's still a very nice bike.
