Save my Suntour Cyclone MKII? and maintenance

Cleaning a Suntour Cyclone MKII rear derailleur, I notice that one of the pulley wheels looked like it got sliced. There is some resistance when I try to spin it, not too bad but noticeable. I have an old Suntour arx rear derailleur that I was thinking of taking apart for the pulley wheel and transplanting that into the Cyclone. Is this possible? Should I leave the Cyclone alone? Would this be difficult?

I'm going to use Frame Saver on my bike to make it last forever but I was wondering if I needed to do some pre-treating before using it. The frame is in great condition. Would I have to oxalic acid it? Would any leftover old grease affect Frame Saving?

None of my LBS's had Park grease but I read about people using auto grease for their BB and headset. Is auto grease comparable to bike grease? Would any type do or would I have to get a high quality grease?

I would swap out the pulley assembly, just use the original bolt. As for frame saver, I have never used it. Might be a good investment though. As for automotive grease, I use it, but I think I should be using better stuff. If you use the search function on the top of the page, type in bicycle grease, and in the drop down box under it, click Titles only.

+1 to what gurry said.

Pulley swap can be easily done.
Just make sure you don't mix up the tension and guide pulleys and don't over torque.

BTW, 10T BBB Rollerboys pulley ( https://www.bbbparts.com/pulleys_rollerboys-bdp01.php )
can be substituted as well. One of the provided bushings is just the right size.
It's the one that fits the bolt. I use these w/ XC-Pro RD w/o probs.
(If you decide to go this route, use Loctite on threads and use minimum torque. The bushings are soft.)

I haven't used Frame Saver either but, I'm sure it comes w/ instructions. Just follow whatever it says.

There are various kinds of auto grease. Some types will work, some won't.
BBs and headset needs grease w/ high film strength. Something like wheel bearing grease
will work but, it may damage rubber seals or O-rings. You'll be taking chances.
Some people swear by marine grade grease. Use the search for more info.

One of the pulleys from the donor bike has a stripped nut so I couldn't get if off. I can't use a tension pulley in place of a guide even if they have the same number of teeth?

You can use waterproof marine grease (its green in color) and is said to be the same as Phil Woods bicycle grease. I've used both and they do look to be the same thing.

What brand are you using?

Also, is it natural for the grease to discolor to a brown or is that a sign of something bad?
