Compatibility b/w brake hoods?

Hey all,

I'm pretty new to BF, but I recently got a 1986 (or 87, not too sure) Bianchi Brava and now I'm riding it every day, sometimes for commuting, and sometimes just for fun!

Here's my question: I have Shimano 105 brake levers (which I assume are original, because it's a late 80's model Brava), and the brake hoods are pretty nasty/sticky. I've been looking around to buy new ones, but I was informed that the new brake hoods for Ultegra/105 brakes might not fit on my old 105 levers. Does anyone have experience with older 105 levers? Thanks all!
