Vintage? Bianchi
I just picked up an 80's? celleste Bianchi for FREE. Anyway, I want to know more about it. My problem is that I don't know what model it is or where to find a serial number to identify it. It is in really good shape and most, if not all, of the decals are still there. Can someone tell me where to look for the model and or serial #. I can post pics if needed. Thanks in advance

Post pics.
Serial number likely on the bottom of the bottom bracket.
Model name is likely on the top tube decal.

Pictures always help. Take a picture of the drive side and the lugs (where the parts of the bicycle tubes meet each other). Taking pictures of any stickers or decals would help too.

If it is Italian and early 1980s, the serial number will be in two parts, on both sides of the seat tube lug. Japanese and late 1980s models have it on the underside of the bottom bracket shell. Again, Italian serial number will be in two sections, sometimes on opposite sides of the shell.
As previously stated, thew model name should be on the top tube.
Pics would be a big help. If not possible, please supply the brand and model of the major components to aid in identification.

Mine has the split serial number on the seat tube lug, BIANCHI on both sides of the seat tube and downtube, but no model name decal on the top tube.

Looks like Universl Brakes. Hoods are nearly impossible to get. If they are Model 61's, let me know. I am also in the Portland area and have an extra set of just the calipers.
There are a lot of choices for painting around here. Google is your friend. Also look for decals for restoration before stripping paint.

I think it might be a 1988 with a Bianchi Special 2 Tretubi by Columbus. in superset frame design of course. if it has stronglight crank, suntour 7000 rearderailuer and 5000 front with Modolo brakes that will tell us for sure. but a pic would be nice
