Raleigh Serial # Help - Please
I recently received a Raleigh Sprite 27 from a family member. Can't find a pic of the model in the online info and searching for Raleigh serial number info is sketchy if the bike isn't higher up the food chain.
Anybody help with this one?
Serial # 2676523 stamped on the top of the seat cluster/lug.
I believe the color was called Bronze Green and it is equiped with a most lovely Hurit Allvit and stem shifter and single front ring (cottered crank).

Not hugely important but it would be nice to know.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think the serial # is going to tell you much, but based on that picture, I'd guess 1975 or 1976. I have a '76 Canadian export Raleigh catalog, and the Sprite is shown as a 5-speed with that chainguard and chainring. However, I also have the '76 US Raleigh catalog, and the Sprite is shown only as a 10-speed (and thus no chainguard).
