Please Help Identify My Colnago

My father bought this bike in the early 80s. I recently dusted it off with the intentions of using it as a daily recreational bike. Now I'm trying to restore it to almost original condition.

It was repainted in the 80s and I want to put decals on it, that's why it would help if I knew which model this is. The only none Campy parts are the front hub and the quick release skewers which I'm currently trying to source on ebay and the handlebar is a Cinelli.

It has been suggested to be a Mexico or Super from late 70s to Early 80s. Patent 1977 is stamped on the Nuovo Record derailleur

Any help or recommendations are welcome

Mikie

With the creased tubing, it looks like neither a Super nor a Mexico, but rather a Nuovo Mexico circa 1983 or so. With that fork, it's probably no earlier. The creased tubing was introduced on the "New" Mexico model following it's use on Sarroni's World Championship winning Colnago in 1982.

Thanks

Thanks for the input.

I want to order the correct decals for the bike so it looks somewhat restored.

Have a good ride.

What a lovely bike that is. I had an electric blue Colnago in the mid-1970s, but sold it because tubular tires and goathead thorns don't mix. This was just before the clincher tire revolution... I wish I'd waited a few more years. I'd still have the bike.
