what stem and other parts for my bianchi?

Ive decided to take the advice of several members on this board and build up my bianchi frame (model unknown).

Im just wondering if bianchi had a standard size for stems, handlebars, cranks and other components, and if anyone had any suggestions as what i should get.

im thinking aluminum drop bars, new drivetrain saddle and seatpost.

I plan on buying all or most of the parts online, so any dimensions, links, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

an unknown Bianchi frame? do you have pics? is it celeste? what kind of tubing?

Bianchi did not have any "standard" for things like stems and seat post like other companies they used what was least expensive but best quality *giggle*. usually it was ITM or sometimes Ambrosio when they were making such things. at times on the higher end bikes you might see TTT and on older bikes even Cinelli stems and bars. some years they would have things laser etched or decaled with Bianchi on them.

Bars and stems were somewhat "standard". Basically there was French and everything else, though best to match bars to stem as they sometimes used different clamp sizes.

If its 60s, Ambrosio would be right, 70s 3tt or Cinelli, 80s probably Japanese; all depending on quality level of course.

You should not have any problems finding parts for that Bianchi.
Best thing going for it in terms of restoration is, IT'S NOT FRENCH! ;^))

I have a black Bianchi quill stem I'd be perfectly willing to trade or sell cheap. I also took a Miche crankset off of the same Trofeo, because I simply liked a Veloce on there, better. Parts are not hard to come by....

Hello Simko. I am not sure how to say this but you do know that is like the bottom of lineup for bianchi? it is not something I would put alot of money in putting topshelf stuff on it. it may be the pics but I do not see a frame decal, which means it is likely a low quality carbon or maganese steel. is the 'spider' pressed on to the right crank arm?

spider? i dont know what your talking about.

i realize this isnt a top end bianchi, but if i can get it functioning as a bike that I can ride, i will be very happy. And if i spend a few extra dollars for some components that I like (aero bars etc) I know i can always transfer those good parts to future bikes.
