I really want to start riding road bikes but I don't really know much about them. I saw this schwinn paramount on craigslist for $200 or for trade, but I don't know how much it is really worth. Any help with rather or not I should buy it would be appreciated you can check it out here

The good deals like this one will not last long enough for a "what do you think of this one" thread unfortunately. Best bet is to review this forum, particularly the valuation subforum, and you will quickly become a bicycle valuation expert!

Around here, the great deals go super fast, and the good deals last a day or two.

The Peloton for $200 is a good deal IMHO. It appears to be an '85 model, and that year was one model below the Paramount so it's a high end bike. It looks like somebody swapped the Sun Tour components for Shimano 600 and 105.

The Paramount was a smokin hot deal. The Peloton is a pretty good deal (depending on condition, can only tell that in person) and should not last very long in a good market. Of course, before you buy anything, you really need to know your size and what type of gearing you are looking for.

+1 to everyone else. The Peloton is a decent buy. Nice bike.
