Minatra Custom Inquiry

So, I'm looking for my first bike in a while. At the bike shop, I found something called a Minatra Custom. Towards the bottom of the down tube it had a sticker saying it was custom made by a Roy or Ron Minatra. All Campagnolo parts from what I could tell (no idea about specifics, just saw the name on almost everything). They were only asking $25 for it. It needs new wheels, a chain, and possibly brakes.

Let me know if you guys know anything about it or if it might be worth it for the parts, etc. Any information is appreciated.

I realize this is an old question, But Coy Minatra is the one who built this bicycle. If you or anyone would like to know more about him, feel free to contact me. I can also put you in touch with his sons that helped.

If you want to know about the bike and the rich history surrounding it let me know. It was made by my father. He also made frames for the Belgian Tour de France Team during that time and there was a local racing team sponsored by Takara that he built bikes for as well. If you look on the bottom bracket the serial number will tell you when it was made. His name was R. Coy Minatra and you have one of the finest bikes made in the world at that time. It is brazed with a silver/nickle solder rather than brass. Everything was hand done. I may have filed the lugs myself as a boy. Best regards and enjoy. If you ever want to sell please let me know.

Hello. I just bought a Custom Minatra bicycle from a sale and I saw by your response that you were from the family that made these bicycles. I looked on bottom and saw the numbers 0 916 78. So if I am understanding correctly then this is a 1978 model? I've tried to look for any information on the Minatra bicycles and can't seem to find much. If there is somewhere I can find any information please let me know. Thank you.

Intriguing (if somewhat slow moving) thread. If you folks have any pics, please get your post counts above ten so you can post those pics here :thumb:

So, how's the weather there?
