Hate to see what the shipping cost would be.

Sent an email to an online parts place...

"Looking for....

Suntour WINNER GOLD 13-28 Freewheel from 1983 or thereabouts…..

Restoring a 1983 Miyata Seven Ten.

Can I get this and how much will it cost if I can.

Thanks."

Their reply.....

"I'm reasonably certain we cannot do an all-gold Winner Pro but a "mostly gold" especially low gears in gold, probably yes, $114.95:"

Hmmm....I can think of so many responses to this but none would be allowed on this forum.

I am new to restoring bicycles so help me out....does this guy seem a bit to high?

All too often we hear about dreadful customer service, sales people that don't listen to us, and the failure of shop owners to 'go the extra mile' for us. Looks to me like you've found a winner!
Now, about the front - I think the big ring would have to be gold as well.....

Considering he said this....

I'm reasonably certain we CANNOT do an all-gold Winner Pro but a "mostly gold" especially low gears in gold, probably yes, $114.95:

I would say no. $114.95 for something that is "mostly"? I don't think so. His response did not convey a since of confidence and he wants $114.95? (giggle)

He didn't say NOS so I have no idea. Wonder what he would have charged for NOS in exactly what I asked for? Scary thought really.

Glad you found what you wanted but I didn't. I just thought it was funny that a guy would offer something "mostly" (as I interpret it as, incomplete, not what I asked for, sub par, etc.) and then still want (as previous poster said), "crack high price.

But who knows, maybe that is the going price for a Suntour WINNER Gold with 13-28 gearing. Also, I will admit, I am going off of the Miyata catalog of 1983 which states the cluster as being a Suntour WINNER Gold 13-28....is there a difference between what I want and what the catalog says and what this guy offered, Winner PRO? I don't know.
