Dr. Deltron Strikes Again

Here's a couple of "Before" pics of my Pinarello of unsure vintage.

You can follow the links back to see more pics of the unoriginal paint and decal job. I bought the frame off eBay for less than $150? back in 2007.

And here's the "After" pics:

I'll build it up with Campagnolo; mostly 9-speed Record. Cinellis stem and bars. Probably black bartape; I can't imagine finding anything to match the paintjob. On the other hand, I've got some great NOS C-Record levers with white hoods so maybe white tape would work.

I hope you like it. I certainly do. Great job, Dr. Deltron!

Well, that's certainly a work of art.

Is that color change paint or just an artifact of the photographs?

So it was you.

Nice. What kind of group can stand up to that paint? Can't wait to see it.

D@mn, I knew I shouldn't have dropped acid tonight.

Seriously, what an awesome paint job! My eyes can't stop shifting the figure-ground...its as if the paint is alive.

It looks like someone on a heavy dose of Sandoz LSD25 threw-up on that frame. But I like. Love it. Yes I do!

That paint job might look good on a flat surface in a frame on a museum wall. I think it looks excessive and silly on the bike. Chacun à son goût. Is Dr. Deltron known for painting bikes, or is he an artist that specializes in other stuff but will paint anything?

He paints (painted ?) bikes only as far as I know. And he does specialize in the unique.

Reminds me of a lowrider. All you c&v'ers love seeing a 65 Impala with metallic paint, right? I've gotta get some bounty.

Checked UPS tracking and it said DELIVERED!

Yay!

Check here and there is already a thread, .. a long one even.
So...

Thanks to all for the kudos!

and BAM says it best .. "excessive & silly" .. which describes me to a T.

And YES, I mainly paint bicycles. In my life I've also done 2 cars and half dozen motorcycles.
Also do houses*, hotels, and wooden weaponry.

*YouTube search for Tour of Sodor. Check out the walls under the shelf.

Although this rendering may not be your taste, I can do simple too.

Just search the word CORKY on the forums.

I had a lot of fun doing this one, especially searching the neighborhood for useful specimens of foliage.
Maybe bbattle can identify all 16 different plants used.

As a note, I found some colored housing that might go well, it's made by Animal, and the blue is a two tone argyle pattern. Looks braided. And a +1 on the white hb tape & hoods. Or I can send you some faux cork hb tape in blue, with the white hoods & blue housing.
I also might try green anodized chairing bolts too! & green qr skewers.
There I go, excessive & silly again!

Have fun building it, as those are the pictures that I want to see!!!
