Quick SIS Question
I've got a set of DT Cable stops for SIS, and one side is a grey plastic adjustible stop and the other side is a silver lever that is also some other kind of adjustible stop..that i've definitely not seen before.
Which one goes on the Front Derailleur side and which on the Rear? |
Left one is the basic barrell. Right one is the lever stop.
They are the Dura Ace stops, sell for a little more, like $20 vs. $10 for the straight barrrel jobs. The lever provides more cable tension with the flick of it, probably has 3 "indented" positions. I've never moved either one. I guess some cables stretch, or something, while riding. |
+1. The lever is meant to provide fine tuning for the rear derailleur, in a race situation.

So since this is not meant for racing would I be better off with the basic barrel stop on the RD?
Seems like it would give a finer adjustment since it doesn't have stops on it like the lever. :dunno: |

nah, your rear derailleur already has a barrel. your front derailleur doesn't.
Funny, i asked this same question a week ago. :-) Its been awhile but I think the primary reason for the 'click' style right adujster is to allow the use of non-Shimano wheels or wheels with different high gear to drop out spacing in the event wheel replacement is needed. If a different wheel is used you click the adjuster the appropriate number of clicks to keep the chain from dropping or to macro adjust the indexing to get you home. |
I think I have a pair or two of those.... for $20 a set I better find them.
|
I paid 10 for mine on ebay. Should have got the curved backs, not the flat though...
