My Holdsworth ELAN 1984 rebuild

Here are a couple of pictures of my completed 1984 Holdsworth ELAN rebuild.

Most parts are new old stock. The seat is the original Kashimax Aero but recovered in nice white leather.

Rebuild and respray done by Argos Cycles in Bristol.

that is beutiful. nice simple very classic. one of the stores I worked in up around Boston had two nice Holdsworths. I really wanted on ( and the owner said I could 'take one') but they were too small.

That paint looks awesome!! And to think it was done for a fraction of what some/most guys here in the US charge. If I were back in Europe I would definitely hit them up. Great looking build!!!

Thanks for the feedback. I had one of these back in 84 but sold it. Now it's just like having that new bike all over again.

The color is mixed to match the original which was a kind of metalic mint green.

The rear gear mech is a Campagnolia 980 and it's the original, as are the front shifter and levers. The bottom bracket (axle, cup and cone type) is nos, as are the pedals (lyotard 82's) and the front chain rings. The crank arms are original.

The rear freewheel is nos Regina ORO gold as is the chain. The wheels and hubs are original and the skewers are nos.

Handlebars and brake levers are original but all cables are new.

now all I need is the fit 17 year old body that used to ride it :-)

Lovely bike. I recall driving past the Holdsworth shop in Lower Richmond Rd in the early 80, olgling those frames in that exact same colour. Classic machine. Lucky man!
