What was NIC ?

In the mid 70's I bought a used 10 speed bike.
I think it had been repainted or stripped of any decals.
The plate on the front said NIC
The dude at the LBS where I bought it said it was Nishiki before they were sold as Nishiki's - I always wondered.
I no longer have the bike an the only picture I might have would not be detailed and is buried in storage and not digital.
The only other real detail is that it was Schraeder tubed.

So, anybody know what NIC was?

I've never heard of or seen a NIC. I believe American Eagle was the brand name used before Nishiki.

Well, here's a not so good shot of the bike at Mt Hamilton, probably the only picture I have of the bike.

Never heard of NIC, but Nishiki , as quoted above, was known as American Eagle before they were Nishikis.
