Removing Stronglight headset with interlocking teeth

Hello-

I have an early 70s Peugeot PX-10 with a Stronglight headset, which I am trying to overhaul. I have just removed the lockring and have reached the parts with interlocking teeth. How do these come off?

Thanks!

Pull it straight up and off. The top toothed lockring is not threaded. The bottom one, the adjustable cup, threads off. You may have a keyed (flat-sided) washer in the way. Lift that off, too.

That's all there is to it. You probably have a Competition V4. They seem to last forever. It's the only part that hasn't been replaced on my PX10.
