SR college sport?
WTF is this thing? I can't really find anything about SR, especially the lower-end models.
From my quick once-over, it has a rather nice-looking lugged steel frame, steel rims, high flange alloy hubs, 12 speeds, turkey wing brake levers, and stem shifters. The crankset looks rather nice (i.e. aluminum and cotterless).
The old lady wants $20, and I"m considering it, despite the fact that some nimrod welded in the seat post.
Even with the steel wheels, it feels kinda light (i.e. 30ish lbs) - it's probably on a par with my Peugeot as far as quality, or so I'd guess.
Anyway, does anyone have any info about the company?

It's OK for what it is, what it costs. You already know. SR comes-up here now and then. It was simply a small firm, west coast, I gather that filched the SR name as if... no big deal, no real allure, a basic bike out of one of 4 or 5 factories that's been re-branded. Threads here show it, hardly worth extensive research. The bike's good for 20. Co's came & went W/O notice in the '70s,'80s

Thanks man. I just grabbed it - it's all rather low-end Shimano stuff on there, but I figure at least I can nab the BB stuff to convert the Pug. Either way, that makes it worth it to me.
