newest arrival/ where is the Vintage MTB thread?
Hello. well I just finished unpacking and reassembling it. unfortunatly my camera fell off the dresser and broke so instead of posting those nasty Cphone pics I'll post a few of the sellers.
this is a fabulous condition '87 Bianchi Grizzly with 6spd Shimano Deore Tange MTB DB Chromoly tubing.
does anyone know where I can get blue annodized everything? seatpost, QR, chainring bolts, bottle cages, misc bolts?

Now that's a clean machine. A true garage queen if there ever was one. Nice!
Your best bet for anodized parts would probably be the BMX world or ebay. I think some ebay sellers are DIY anodizers - I've had mixed results on quality buying from there.

I passed up a Bianchi Nyala recently... looked to be in about the same kinda condition...
dude was asking $85 for it... it was even a 22" beautiful forest green color...
kinda kick self it ass for not getting it... I wouldn't put much anodized stuff on it looks good like that
PS--- that frame looks exactly like my Hardrock...

Bianchigirl,
From this shop I got my lot of SRP anodized bolts >>> https://www.cyclerepairman.co.uk/Bikebolts/C33-1-0.htm
Regular bolts >>> https://www.fastener-express.com/inde...&Category=2896
This shop stock the dia-compes like JYB has them. Unfortunately not in blue, but they do have purple >>> https://vintagebikes.de/shop.php?okat...=12&art_id=141
Personally I think the purple would be not a bad option too. The blue could look off, while purple contrasts.
Without doubt a lot of the other parts you're mentioning can be found on eBay, but you likely will have to compete with other commited people there.
Two other sources you can try >>>

Hello everyone. thanks nice touring bike junkyard.
thanks for the links Elev, I have been looking on ebay for annodized parts but I was hoping by buying at one source everything would match.

Seems like for a certain year (198?), that (almost) exact version of that bike was made by different companies...I have a Miele that looks strikingly like yours.
I'll post it when I get home from work...

yes it is. zero Oh where does NE have a panhandle?
in 1987 almost all highend Deore equpped MTBs looked alike. mass production was still somewhat new for MTBs and most companies had not gotten their signature designs down. then again all road bikes before carbon, Al, and multishaped tubes looked alike too.
a good customer of mine had one of those mexican(?) built Hoo Koo E Koos, nice bike but it looked just like this except for the color.

Nice Grizzly. Not long ago, I picked up an old Super Grizzly, which unfortunately is only about 20% celeste (black with celeste splatter paint). Wish it was full celeste like yours.
MSRP on Bianchi MTBs was ridiculous back in the day - $2500 for the Super Grizzly, when comparable bikes from other manufacturers were going for half that. One of the the reasons why you see 200 Stumpjumpers for every 1 Grizzly.

Nice bike, Bianchigirll! It looks to be about the same vintage as my Schwinn (see signature).
We may be able to bracket the age by the under-the-chainstay rear brake, which was definitely a short-lived evolutionary dead end for mountain bikes.

I have an old Haro Extreme that also looks like your Bianchi. Undermount U-brake and all. This was from back in the day when everyone had a mtn bike on their offerings list, even Haro who usually only does BMX stuff. It originally came with XT everywhere but over the years the components have been changed as they wore out and parts were available on short notice.
Some day I will get a pic of it posted here. Some day.

schwinderella I'll look when I get home. is that Deore or Deore XT? it looks like a 88-89 because of the thumbshifters and the cantis on the seatstays. the '90 had some really odd colors. you did alot better than I did . the seller sent the original celeste bars but it was a waste of time. nice looking ride.
