Huret stem mount boss

Can someone tell me if I can use either Shimano or Suntour shifter arms and hardware on a Huret stem mount boss?

I just tried a 1983ish Suntour lever on a 1980ish Huret base. It fits the pivot fairly well but the friction disks are of a different designand would require some thought. The screw has a different thread too.

I never tried it, but I am quite certain that nothing will fit a Huret shifter boss except itself. SunTour and Shimano had different setups and interior parts.
