super record or lower end brake calipers?

had a quick question. I was at a swap meet today and saw what i thought were a set of super record brake calipers. the had the engraved "handwritten" campagnolo name on them. ive got a couple of bikes with these calipers. they are the last of the super record before changing over to c record. the cobalto brakes are just like em except for the blue stone. well anyway...i bought these thinking i got a great deal but along comes my retro expert friend and he tells me that they are not super record as they dont have the same "quick release" mechanism that opens the brakes up....not that round wheel type that the true super records all have. well..i didnt notice that at all but he was right. did campy make a victory or some other lower end caliper that has the hand written capagnolo engraved? ive never seen or heard of that before. these looked exactly like the super except for that mechanism

Yup. Check VeloBase. The Victory calipers have different releases and caliper nuts.

I'll wager Triomphe or Victory. Depends on the overall cross-section of the caliper.

Of note, Nuovo Gran Sport also has that same two-position Q/R, but looks closer to NR in font (and also have the telltale "G.S." on them).

How much did you pay for these calipers, might I ask? Anything under $75 isn't bad (though keen eBaying can get them for $35-40).

P.S.: Velobase doesn't have a Triomphe caliper entry...but it will in 15 minutes.
