One entry has been submitted so far.

Tom, I enjoy reading your posts. I like that you say what you think and not always what is popular. I mean that in the best way possible.

The extra couple of weeks is a welcome offering and I accept. I think that I would have completed the bike in time but it would have meant rushing and I do not like to rush my bike life. I am looking forward to seeing all of the ideas that others have come up with. Has BF done this before? If so, is there a place I can go to have a look at previous contestants?

Good luck all.

Are there extra points for completing ahead of time? Just curious.

There was one previous contest in late 2008 - the finished products are here.

No, sir. We did this to give the folks on the east coast more time due to the snow.

The good reverend is on the East Coast, too, and he finished early! But he doesn't need extra points, does he? He's got divine intervention on his side.

Things are moving along for me, but I'm not living up to the original "Velo-Cheapo" idea as well as I should have. I think this ones a keeper so it makes it hard.

Actually, here in the NH mountains, we have been blessed with a lack of snow this winter. My heartfelt sympathies to all who have had to endure a normal NH winter.

Careful Tom, I understand "What happens in Vermont stays in Vermont"....Or was that Vegas. I think I'd rather visit Vermont and New Hampshire (I interviewed for a job there in Lebanon about 3 years ago but opted to stay in San Diego. It was during the fall, and it was beautiful.)

Taxes are better in NH (as compared to CA & CT). I'm 30 miles SE of Lebanon

Got some more work squeezed in on the old battle axe. Still too much to do and still undecided on how I want to finish it out but we'll see how it goes. It's sooo easy to get paint issues... All for the learning!

Finally did some work on my build this weekend. Progress, but still not nearly done. Don't think it will be the prize winner, but at least it will be another bike completed and not sitting in the to do pile.

I'm having "component compatibility" issues. I'm going to have to scrounge for some new (old) bits to use. I still haven't got to ride it yet....
